Was swapping out the rear pads and my brake caliper compressor tool slipped. Tore the dust boot a bit. How long till the internal gasket is ruined? Is it possible to replace just the outer gasket or not worth the effort as opposed to just picking up a remand one? Ive never replaced this gasket before although I have a slight idea of how to do it. Haven't priced a new caliper yet. Track day coming up on April 1st.

Follow Up
They are classified as "high series police brakes"
Passenger Rear Part Number
FR3Z-2552-H
BRCF367

Drivers Rear
FR3Z-2553-H
BRCF370

Apparently it replaces part FR3Z-2553-C. Hopefully the change is the newer high temp dust cover gasket and/or silver to black.
I ordered and confirmed these are the part numbers for a black caliper, and the newer high temp gasket.

Changing out that seal can be a pain. Getting the piston out is the easy part. Getting it back in sucks
You can buy a kit from rockauto for $6 that has that outer seal.

I would buy that and take the caliper to a shop to replace it.

BTW. You get my PM's?

One of mine is pretty torn up and has been for thousands of miles and many track days. You dont need to worry about replacing it right away.

Great to know theres a rockauto kit, thats the first I’ve heard of a replacement seal for the rear calipers.

My factory boot on my 2016 got brittle and cracked in various places from repeated track use. I found out that Ford revamped that boot to handle higher temps. Would be good to double check whether the rockauto kit is for the new or old boot. The new boot is red, which looks to be the one you currently have. The older boot is black.

I had bought a whole new caliper kit from optimumperformance with the revamped boots.

Yeah, it's super urgent thing to fix, but I just wouldn't want to risk it.

Looking at rock auto. It looks to be black.

Im having a hard time finding a replacement caliper. Most replacement calipers Im seeing have a silver look, while mine is darker, black I believe. I have a PP1, are the base model brakes different in the rear? I thought all 2015+ GT brakes were the same caliper in the rear, I cant figure out why some are silver and some are black.

Black

Silver

This article has pictures of both silver and black rear calipers

From what I've seen on here. The rears are the same on the PP and non-PP...

I'm confused as to where that article says the kit has 13.8" rotors.
Looking it up on AM where they got since it's normal brakes that come on PP and non PP GT's

Follow up in case it helps others one day. Called several parts departments and got these numbers. Some pics Im seeing online still show silver so I'll update if it comes in silver and not black.

They are classified as "high series police brakes"
Passenger Rear Part Number
FR3Z-2552-H
BRCF367

Drivers Rear
FR3Z-2553-H
BRCF370

Apparently it replaces part FR3Z-2553-C. Hopefully the change is the newer high temp dust cover gasket and/or silver to black. Again, It'll prob be a week or two before I get one in and Ill update if it ends up being the wrong one
