I know a few folks around here don't care about what the car's top speed is limiter turned off. I on the other hand would like to know what is the fastest unlocked top speed anyone has hit in this latest version of the GT500. As a side note, what will it do in a standing mile?

I found a video from Germany and a guy hit 195 mph but had to let up.

The car will go. The problem is that you run out of real estate. There is a reason they limited it to 180.

There is always a reason but how fast will it go? Finding a long enough stretch of road or salt flat is the challenge.

To give you an idea, standing on the throttle out of the bis stop at Daytona, I hit the speed limiter just on the other side of the start/finish on the front stretch. The car stagnates a bit at the top end of 6th, but when it shifts to 7th, the car begins to accelerate again. I believe the car would exceed the 200mph mark if there was enough room.

Take the big wing off and the other drag and things probably would happen a little faster.

So I guess the answer is no one on here has reached the all out non-limtied top speed or does not know of anyone who has.

Not to my knowledge, not many people want to tune the car and even less want to risk their life to get a few minutes of fame on a forum.

+200MPH is very difficult. Traction becomes scant and aerodynamic buffeting will quickly increase the pucker factor exponentially.

You would also absolutely regret taking your car to the salt or silt of a dry lake bed.

I havent tried over about 170 mph in my whippled gt yet, heres a 60-165 run from 2 days ago. Not sure if the GT's aero is designed for over 160 mph, the digital and analog speedo both stop at 160 mph.

100 to 150 mph took 1050 feet

201mph is no joke. I hit 181mph in my Charger Hellcat. Had road and room left and the car had more but I decided to let up.
This is a post run pic of the saved top speed.
It was on a police escorted poker run.

I would like to ride in a GT500 doing over 200mph but I’m guessing it would never be in my car. I’m not going to tune it and at my weight, 235 lbs, pretty sure as a passenger it would not like the added weight.

Since there seems to be no definitive proof what the exact unlimited speed of
the new GT500 is, here are two examples of the '13/'14 GT500 just in case there
is someone here who hasn't seen these.
The first car is probably stock, and it gets up to an eventual indicated 200 mph,
but after about 170 it's obvious (to me anyway) that acceleration is tapering off
due to the aero drag. There is a mathematical formula for determining top speed,
in case there are any math wizards here, maybe someone can apply this to the GT500.

In a previous life I used to race with two actual rocket scientists from Huntsville, AL.
One passed away unfortunately and I lost track of the other one.

Conversion from Km/H to MPH is 0.621371 so if his speedo was accurate (unlikely at
that speed, IMO) 340 Km/H=211 mph.
