Hey folks, I realize the GT350 was not meant for the dragstrip but I always make a few passes in my cars to establish a baseline MPH. I was fairly pleased with her performance, I made 7 consecutive 118mph passes, with a best of 12.1 & 12.2. 60's were challenging, either she'd spin or bog, had a best of 1.95. My GT350 is stock outside of an MGW shifter, still has the paper tags on her, lol.

I did a line lock burnout, turned off AT, put her in Dragstrip Mode, shifted at 8k rpms. Here's a quick vid from today, my photo bucket account isn't working anymore or I'd post up the slips....

Not bad at all. 12.1 and 12.2 for a track star is great. You're on stock tires as well. Dam nice I would say.

Thank you sir! My goal was to beat my ET/MPH from my stock Boss 302 from 2012, which was 12.3@117

What was the DA?
The best I have got out of mine 12.4@116 and that was with a flex tune running E85 :headbonk:

Those are great times especially considering how hard it is to launch.

Obviously this is not your first rodeo at the strip based on your very consistent ET and MPH speed.

Nice job of driving!

Having owned a number of 2012 Boss 302's along with some new GT350's I always felt that there was not much difference in straight line performance between the two and your video just confirms what I feel behind the wheel as well.

Yes, various magazine articles provide us with many performance numbers for both cars but it is nice to see an enthusiast such as yourself who has owned both and taken both cars to the track in order for us to do a proper comparison.

As much as I still enjoy my Boss 302 these new GT350/R's are well ahead of the Boss cars on a road course and just an outstanding well balanced automobile that exudes a great deal of character, spirit and soul especially compared to the other 2 Pony car competition namely the Camaro and Challenger.

Thanks for posting as really enjoyed the videos!

Thanks! I've been a regular at The Rock for almost 15years, I live in Mooresville, 2hr drive.

Thanks Ola, DA was around 1500ft, not the best but not terrible. I'll send you another pm, tell you more about why i got rid of my death machine, lol.

Thanks, this is definitely one of the harder cars to launch that I've had at the strip. I made 8 passes, tried a number of different ways, she'd either spin or wheel hop, barely eeked out 1 sub 2.0 60 which resulted in my 12.1.

Thanks! Yes, I've made 1000+ passes in my C6Z, GT500, 12 Boss, 14GT, 15GT, 04 STi, and now my GT350. I agree, the GT350 is drastically superior to the the Boss 302, but the Boss could definitely hang in the straight line. I think the GT350 has an 11.8 at 119-120 in her with a 1.7-1.8 60ft and some good DA.

My 06 C6Z still has the most impressive pass for a bone stock car, 11.5's at 123

Guys, if you plan on going to the dragstrip in your GT350 then I'd highly recommend the MGW shifter. I made 8 passes and didn't miss a single shift, she barked the tires going into 3rd on every pass, the shifter is a work of art.

Nice times for sure. I can't believe they let you run without a helmet! What RPM did you launch at? Almost sounds like your at idle when you launch.

Man it's great to see someone not "douche" it up at the strip lol. Nice skills and I'm jealous cause our da is anywhere from 4-6k depending (west texas).

My helmet was in the back seat, had it available just in case. That strip would let me make go 155 traps with no cage or chute as well :eyebulge:
