What do you guys recommend for tires for street use on a Supercharged S550? The car is not a daily driver but is always driven on the street/highway. I am waiting on my SC to come in and get it installed so I'm researching which tires to run. It will hopefully be putting down 600+ rwhp. I want a tire that is hard to break loose when getting on it. I also will drive it in the rain in occasion. I'm leaning towards 315/35/20s.

Youll wear rear tires faster.
You might want a square set up same offset front rear so you can swap front to rears for wear.
If so, consider 285-295 on 10-10.5 width in 19". Quality spacer w long studs for fronts (no adapters).
You can go 20" but the lack of sidewall hurts your road debris and pot hole durability on both tires and wheels. Some sidewall is desirable for contact patch stability on the street and putting power down.

Not saying this would work for you but:
Dry and summer light rain no standing water I run 305/35 MPSS 19x11ET50.
305 requires front body work and wouldnt do it again, lol 295 is solid.
A 295 RE71R,MPSS, MPC2,NT01,etc will outperform an INVO 315.
Go for quality not just width.
For substantial rain I run 245 MPAS3 on stock 18x8, absolutely killer cold 40-60F wet performance up to 100. Narrower footprint and higher void ratio for rain is a huge advantage for hydroplane resistance.
NT01 305 on 18x11 for track days. Yup, 18s for track cause lighter weight and $100 less a tire per corner plus more options in 18 vs 19. Keep in mind 20s get expensive and even fewer options.
Whippled.

I'm okay with replacing rears as I've already ordered wheels in 20x10 and 20x11. I had not looked at the MT SS, nice looking tire. They only have 305. I was planning on a 285 up front.
MPSS come in 315/35/20, MPSC2 in 305/30/20, Tito R888R 315/30/20, Nitto NT555 G2 and NT05 come in 315/35 as well

depends on the level of tires you want MPSS, r888r, and 555g2 are 3 differnt levels of tires. id recommend nothing with less traction than a MPSS.

Thanks for the feedback, this is the type of info I'm after. Is there something better than the MPSS I should consider?

315 looks like a balloon on a 20" wheel. Been there, done that. 305/35-20 is perfect.
Thanks, seems like there are more choices in 305. That size should be ok on 11" rim?

I'm running the Nitto 555 G2 I like them for daily use, but they aren't the stickiest. If my car wasn't my daily I would go with something much more aggressive like a R888.

it depends around 600whp if money no object MT street s/s. supposed to hook real well.. last like 4k miles.. maybe..

if want some tire life nt555r is decent. im trying out regular nt05 as idealy i want around 15k miles out of a tire.. if that doesnt work i will reevaluate and see whats up . 305s are nice each brand has different options. DR will afford wider. its preference just stick with recommended wheel widths if unsure.

I would recommend the R888 per our conversation.

What wheels did you go with ?

What did you finally determine on your 600+ RWHP seup with regard to running the NT05's? I'm searching for a more suitable replacement for 305/30/20 555 G2's that just aren't holding 627RWHP. Main concern is the tire holding on the street at a 50-60 MPH WOT kick down on a 6R80 setup. Car is unpredictable under this condition. It is a butt puckering experience I'd like to minimize with ah better rear tire solution while have a little wet pavement traction. MT SS option lacks any wet pavement traction. May as well be on an R series. Had both and learned from experience there. I am personally leaning toward Michelin Pilot 4S or the SS series based on what I have read. However if the NT05 (not the DR) is holding 600+ RWHP for you and has ANY road manners on wet pavement at all (obviously with any tire with 600+ a person has to be gentle) I would consider that route. Thanks.

NT05 is not very good for traction or rain. The street SS is good in rain for the first half of its life. MPS4S is a good daily but if i nail it at 50 i spin. Traction or tread life. Lol if you can replace tires every 6ish thousand miles. I’d say street SS

^^ Thanks for the follow up. Gives me something to think about. I'm not expecting a dead hook but I would like a tire that is a little more predictable in the described scenario in operable air and surface temps. The 555 G2's with this much RWHP just aren't happy. The back end at 627 RWHP on a straight away just wants to twist free with no warning on that infamous 6R80 WOT down shift. Seldom does the car just squat and go on these tires with only 80-90 more RWHP than the previous car. I had these tires on my 14 that made 540RWHP and they did a nice job under the conditions described unless it was 40 degrees outside.

Appreciate the feedback.

Nitto 555R all day long. It's exactly what you need. They come in 305/35r20 for like $325 a tire. Can drive in rain although I wouldn't after about 5k miles and always be very careful but they do have some grooves to repel water and have I'd say double the wear life vs a Mickey street S/S but those will have better grip - wouldn't feel comfortable driving those in the rain nor really any drag radial but if you get caught the 555R will get you home if you are smart and go slow and they're not worn much. I would not use any street tire for your HP level if you want to use that power
