I have a set of 19x8.5 Rotifrom RSE's that I'm having trouble finding a good tire size for. I'm looking at getting Michelin PS4S but I can't figure out wether to get 245/40R19 or 255/40R19. 245 seems like a safe fit with no bulge but the overall diameter of the 255 is lager at 27.1" compared to the 245's 26.7".

which tire size should I be going with? will the 245 be too short? will the 255 bulge a lot? or is the diameter size difference not significant enough to stress over. my current tire size is the stock 235/50R18 with the Goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric all seasons (which tire rack lists the overall diameter to be 27.3") on the eb premium 18 inch stock rims.

also lowering on ford performance street springs most likely but I don't think that will change anything with this tire decision

I have the black accent wheels which are 19x8.5...255/40R19 is the factory size they come with. That being said I'm running 245/45R19 winter tires on them at the moment, and it barely makes a difference on how the tire sits on the wheel. Actually the factory tires looked less bulgy, but that's probably due to the bigger sidewall on the winter tires.

I'm pretty sure you'll be fine with either size, with slightly less bulge on the 245/40 tires.

Same here with black accent 19x8.5. Either 245 or 255 will fit good, although 255 is about the maximum recommended width, it won't over bulge. Ford wouldn't ever do a silly fitment :ford:

I'd recommend the 255/40, it fits well, height is about right, and just a touch more contact area. Lots of decent tire choices on this size.

Thank you both! I thought there was a package that came with 19x8.5 but I couldn’t remember. 255’s are ordered now.
