Hmmm… you’ve noticed this too. I mentioned this observation to my wife and she thought I was car-shaming. But thats not it at all. I’m sure it’s a fine car. It’s just that if I see someone doing some banzai crazyass tweaker sh*t in traffic, it’s almost always an Altima.
I didn't believe this at first. They really do exist. This poses more questions then answers.

Ugh, lth, full 3" ex, 91mm tb, QA1 cf ds, full stop the hop, front end bracing, ford magneride perf pack, plus more mods on my Bullitt, on Lund E85 tune...

It's tough. I dont endanger people, or shoulder pass. If you had to shoulder pass you were second, can't brake, or def an asshole proving your doucheness.

Once in awhile, the stars align, and I get a few safe runs in with a reasonable car enthusiast. No need to be inside someones ass, no snow plowing, just wait until it's all clear, either line up or pass together. Its just smooth, we have laughs, nobody gets hurt. Thats ideal.

Happens .001 percent. Rest are shitboxes, ricers, idiots, and slow as fuck Dodge owners.

Fuck them all, conditions are good, suck my burnt corn.
This is mostly what I try to do. Luckily it doesn't happen as much because people know what GTRs are capable and I don't give the other 15% the time of day.

I honestly respect people so much more if they just happen to start cruising or following me in a respectful manner regardless of what they're driving.

Only person I've given the time of day recently was a track pack '20 GT500 on a twisty back road that no one ever drives and even then it was more of friendly game of tag. When we got back to the main road, we actually ended up pulling into the same food plaza, chatted for a bit, exchanged info and went about our day.

Funny cause I just said yesterday I don't have anyone doing stupid shit at or to me and then this morning on my way to work some guy in a Nissan Armada kept running up right next to me and staring at me. I just didn't even look over and kept driving.

You need a sticker,

My other car has 1200SHP with six 50-cal machine guns and goes 380MPH
Good idea, that'll make those dastardly Dodges think about who they may be tangling with. Not only that but it a two stage supercharger.

Last Saturday on the Interstate I noticed a blue Challenger with white stripes in my rear mirror (beautiful car), told my GF "we got company", she looked back, then looks at me saying, please drive like grandpa, and I did. But it was tempting not to, oh wait, oops, this is the "anonymous racer" thread.. :giggle:
and you have the RIGHT color too!

Not sure about racing me, but I get revved at all the time, most people haven't seen this color so it draws a lot of attention. I have a chuckle at their shenanigans, taking the civilized approach as they make an ass out of themselves.

It's interesting how quickly this thread got longer and longer. Says lots and lots of us Stang folks have experiences about the same, but I have to wonder (maybe sneak over the see) of the Challenger/Charge threads trash talk about some stupid Mustang trying to race them, ho ho.

Here's flipside, when I'm cruising in the GT (as it ain't a DD) and see a classic or new muscle car nearby if I can I'll give them a wave or universal thumbs up to show we're in the family of muscle car fans. More often than not I get a wave back, a thumb reply or just a dumb look. The last because they forget what they're driving and wonder "do I know this dude?".

What to do?

Also I want to understand the psychology behind why guys in jeeps and trucks and etc try to race and us and why It's so hard for me to just ignore them please if anyone has any theories I'm keen to hear your input!
Folks here pretty much covered the psychology, so here's my input on "what to do."

I'm the kind of guy where my P.O.'d meter goes from 0 to 100 really quick if I get caught off guard. What works for me is I think about a situation beforehand that peeves me off, so then I say out loud, "I'm just going to let it go." Key is, I have to say it out loud. Maybe every time before I get behind the wheel until it sinks in.

It's not a matter of if, but when the cops pull you over. Also, in a country where there are more guns than people (and crazy people at that), best not to provoke a situation. Plus, The stupidest things happen when you don't expect it and you end up wrecking your beautiful car or killing somebody. So tell yourself -- OUT LOUD -- I'm not falling for it.

Option two is to marry a woman like I did. And make sure she rides with you every time you drive a car. I don't dare even tweak the throttle next to somebody without getting an earful. Heck, she even sees fit to remind me about my speed *Even when everybody is passing me. Literally.* I may wear the pants in the family, but she wears a size larger. So if I want my derriere kicked up between my shoulder blades, all I have to do is something she perceives as stupid behind the wheel.

Last reason not to get roped in: About 10 years ago, I was on my way to work one early morning (still dark out), and I was going up the entrance ramp to our local four-lane bypass for my 11 mi jaunt to my next exit. I had a Lincoln Mark VIII with the DOHC 4.6 V8. Fun car! Anywhoo, as I was merging, a newer black four-door Chevy FWD piece of crap went screaming past me, so I thought, "This should be fun, let's see how fast he wants to go." So I started following him, not really wanting to race or pass him, but we'll just see what the FWD family car can do... We hit 80, 90, And just as we were getting to 100, the red and blue lights in his back window came on for about four cycles then shut off 😳
I immediately took my foot out of the gas, my eyes were as big as dinner plates, and I said out loud, "Yessir, Mr officer, I will slow down..."
He continued on his silent run, and I laughed my ass off, HARD, for the next 2 miles....

Tbh 99% of the time I drive super conservative, but literally every day I got guys (usually in Jeeps and pick up trucks) that as soon as they see my car they start flooring it trying to cut me off and stuff.
It's just your perceptions. You're imagining things.

When you say this happens every day, that means you're looking for such behavior, and finding it in other drivers. And if you look for something, you will find it.

At the risk of once again exposing my limited reading comprehension, I’ll say it more clearly guys. This is fun to think about and fun to talk about and gives us all a chance to unfold our favorite war stories. Fair enough, no harm no foul. But if you really have an uncontrollable problem being baited or suckered in to a situation that is dangerous or otherwise no bueno for you and those around you, you ain’t gotta car problem. It’s 100% behavioral and if it matters to you that’s how you approach it. If it doesn’t matter much to you then knock yourself out and have a good time!

By the way, many of the responses to this thread show a lot of maturity, judgement and impulse control. Those things aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive with a good time!

I’m good. I resist the temptation. Except when I don’t. Do your best to be smart. They’re crazy out there.
