true but as greedy as Ford is, they don't price option packages based on individual SKU price - or if they do, they 'comp' the base car or otherwise reduce the impact. Ford's cost is probably no more than 40% of the public SKU price.

You can buy the carbon wheels from Ford for what, 6 grand each? Or on this forum for 3 each. Ford's direct cost is likely less than $2500.

I just dont see how anyone would want this over a GT350 unless you want the A10. They are definitely going to be similarly priced and you know Ford dealers are going to try to mark this up like they do with everything else.
2020 GT350 is the last model year. At some point you just won't be able to find one new in the spec and color you want. As a GT350 owner I think the Voodoo also scares some people away and you also will have more tech in the Mach 1 like the digital dash (likely heated wheel), and of course there is the A10 option which the GT350 does not offer.

At the same time, since when can you buy anything in a package at a proper retail price. $1,000 for a B & O stereo system? You could get much more for much less installed aftermarket. Carpets are how much? A trunk liner is $110. Everything is marked up. Sure I quoted retail but , by and large, I did not include installation on top. Assembling a car is not free. They do include something for adding those add-ons.

We will see. It will not be long before the website shows the real prices. Someone else can put up what they feel the prices will be for the items I listed.

Many of those prices come straight from the Ford builder website. PP1 was $5,100 for 2020. $4K seems cheap in comparison. PP2 was $6,500 but many of those items are standard but that was 3 years ago too.

since this is a limited edition thing, I wonder what Ford has in the pipeline for the mustang after the mach 1. (other than the all electric) Or maybe the all electric is the next thing in the pipe line.

That is also true. Just from reading the press release the contents of handling packaging to me don't seem worth your estimated price.

I would guess 1500-3k tops. It's essentially different wheels/tires and some aero bits. the Handling pack for the 350 is only $850 and its 1500 on the GT500. Granted they don't include different wheels tires.

I mean the Mach is already going to have the upgraded brakes/ tuning/ suspension bits and all those other goodies the PP2 included for the regular GT

It was already stated but the Bullit was a PP1 car, not a PP2.

If you look at the PP2 base for 2019 of $49,100 and just add 3 coolers, each about 1300, you are almost to $53K with no other changes. Add the $1200 gas guzzler to kick the base to $54K. Also add the $1600 Power Pack for the 20 hp more to push us to $55K roughly.

I could see add-ons prices being:

Handling Package (already listed) - $4,000
Recaro or leather $1600+
B&O sound system $1000
Automatic $1850 - (Current is $1600 but they are offering upgrades to that)
security or anti theft $400
Smart and Safe $1000
Active Valve exhaust $900

So fully loaded with these prices largely taken form the 2020 GT puts the top end without the carpets and odds and ends at

Automatic: $65,750 with everything (Handling pack at $4,000)
Manual: $63,900 with everything (Handling pack at $4,000)

If you do not want the handling package, take off $4K but if you want a track car, I would expect it to be there.

That puts it right in line with a GT350.

I know a few guys who wanted the GT350 to have the 12 inch digital dash. this may have it in response to the GT350 not having it.

I can see the car having a base of about $55,000 now that I looked up what a PP2 base price is and adding what I believe are standard 3 coolers.

Adding coolers to my PP2 and the Power Package still seems like a steel to get very close to what this is, performance wise. I buy cars with steering wheels because I like to turn. I am one who does not really care about straight line speed. Put a car on a twisty track and let's see how it does. By the way, The PP2 did beat the PP1 auto on the track (https://www.cars.com/articles/mustang-vs-mustang-fords-performance-packages-tested-1420700897178/). Manuals do have their place.

Revised handling package price to $4K
Forgive my ignorance -- where was the handling package price announced? I don't see it in the OP, but I may be blind.

Also, I don't think active exhaust will be a separate option. If this is anything like a Bullitt++, then it should be standard, as it was on the Bullitt. <sigh> still too many unknowns that may remain unknown for a while given that this thing doesn't hit dealerships for nearly another year.

Did you look what you get for $1500 for the GT500 handling package:

The Handling Package for Shelby GT500 includes:

• Gurney flap*
• Splitter wickers*
Not much.

For the GT350, your $850 is only:

The Handling Package includes:

• Adjustable strut top mounts*
• Gurney flap (Shelby® GT350 only)

*Factory-invoiced accessory shipped separately from vehicle. Dealer installation.
I have a feeling $480 tires and a set of 10.5/11 wheels will be MUCH , MUCH more than this.

By the way, the cosmetics package I left out and that too will add something to the price as well as the special striped seating. Fully loaded will be high.

Then again, not everyone will get it fully loaded.

So far, the handling package will get:
Gurney flap
Large wing
front extra splitter (alla PP2)
10.5/11" wheels on Cup 2 tires

How much would you pay for jut this parts list when compared to the above?

Am I the only one to notice that they put flairs around the fender on the Handling Package white car? It looks like a black plastic lip was added I guess to handle the rocks and spray off the wider tires. Nothing appears to be on the back wheel well.

you are not the only one who noticed, they even mentioned it in the article. it is to meet road legal requirements on tires sticking out.

They didn't do it for the PP2, GT350 or GT500 which has the same width or close to the same width wheels.

I saw that on the spy photos as well. Wasn't sure it would stick for production or not.
I'm a bit disappointed in using the Bullit power vs a small bump... hell even 10hp would make it more appealing for that kind of money. Track times will be the true judge.
