The only modern car that gets away with it is the Challenger. Partially because the body lines are from the 70's.
Although it doesn’t shake, the ZL1 hood could be mistaken for a shaker. It’s strictly hood clearance, though, as far as I can tell. But it fits the look of the car.

Errrrr, hood vents? Yep, it has hood vents, just as all '18+ S550s do.

If you mean a shaker, it's already been explained that to make it functional would have meant a mess of trying to duct air to the actual intake, and it wouldn't have offered any more performance so they didn't do it. Besides, the shaker was never stock on the '69/70, it was always an option.
We've seen pics / photoshops of S550 with shaker and it's really nothing to write home about.

So will the same 4.5 inch exhaust tips be on the base model as well or only with the handling package? Since i wouldn't track this car my plan is to get a loaded base Mach 1 with the A10 and maybe the appearance package depending on how good the Fighter Jet Gray looks in person. If not, then velocity blue! I also thought it was interesting that you cannot get performance blue on the base car because they don't consider the base a "performance" car.
4.5" tips come on both Handling Pack and stock/base Mach 1s.

Performance Blue is a Shelby-only color........I don't believe any Mach 1 is available in that color.

What are we thinking the quarter mile times and 0-60 will be on the performance package Mach 1? Better than GT350? Obviously talking stock here
Definitely faster with the A10. No doubt about it.

So, Tony, are you getting it in the 10 speed auto? And, I am seriously thinking of switching my color from blue to FJG since this is the car with the appearance package. Nothing like it in the Mustang universe.

Faster than the GT350? Haha not a chance. Might be quicker in the 1/4 but def not faster. The release the weight on this thing yet?

Still wonder if they will end up offering the 10-speed with the handling package in the end since it's early on?

Absolutely quicker in the 1/4 and 0-60. That was what the original comment was meant for. The A10 is an easy 1/2 second faster than either the GT350 or MT-82 6 speed manual. And, from personal experience at the dragstrip, the sticks have no chance against the A10.

From looking up 0-60

GT PP1 A10 was 3.9
GT PP1 6SP was 4.4 , I think
GT PP2 6SP was 4.2.

I was under the impression this was basically an A10 bullitt.? Not sure adding 20 hp and 25Ft-Lb is going to do much to the numbers. I wonder if the PP1 tires will limit traction and you will still get 0-60 of 3.9.

I do think, or rather hope, the Tremec gearing will bring the numbers down possibly to the point where there is 0.1 sec between the Mach1 A10 and the Mach 1 HP 6SP.

Maybe that is a bit of wishful thinking as well. The GT350 est 0-60 was 4.1 which would put the Mach 1 HP to be about the same as a PP2. Might end up being that better gearing of the Tremec still won't buy you anything even with the extra 20 hp and 25ft-lb of torque.

At least this will give you some ideas of what the performance will be.

The Mach 1 will really shine is at the track. It is not a drag car. It will be faster through the twists and turns than the GT similarly equiped.

IMHO which is just a educated guess

Yes, the magazines give their 0-60 times but in my own 6spd experience and others at the strip, the stock cars have a very hard time doing 12.5 seconds in the 1/4. There was a guy at Milan with a mildly modified gt350 and he finally got his 1/4 Down to 12.5 seconds. I would love to see Motor Trend or C/D actual time slips and the number of runs to get those times.
