I also wish the folding seat was automatic all the way forward and would return to the original location. My kid rarely rides in the mustang as it's a weekend car.. but I hate that my seat position is always changing.
I have a 2020 with Recaro.

Lever on the side = constant readjustment.

Lever on the back = resets to same place every time :like:

Yes, but without using the side lever, good luck getting in the back if you're more than five years old. :giggle:
The standard seats will also move forwards when you use the back lever, then they'll come back to the original position. The Recaros don't, they just tilt.

Not necessarily that it's specific to rally cars, but rather that it's specific to top-of-the-line models. The Escort RS Cosworth was the fastest, most powerful Escort. The Sierra RS Cosworth was the fastest Sierra. The Focus RS is the fastest Focus. Whereas the I4 Mustang is the least powerful Mustang in the lineup. An RS badge wouldn't make much sense.
What about a 400hp hybrid with M6 and AWD. That could have the RS badge. Bet it would be a blast.

@Vlad Soare - Yeah my 11 year old copes well but she is careful ...

I have a tip for getting the seat base position back perfectly (and more importantly, ensuring drivers and passenger sides match without continuous fettling), let me post a picture later :like:

A blast yes, sure, but still not the most powerful in the lineup. :)
Sadly, the chances of seeing a hybrid with an M6 are pretty slim. It's not impossible technically, but highly unlikely.

The calibration with automatics or DCTs is tough enough. They would not do it on a manual.

I'm just trying to imagine how severely the handling balance might momentarily shift around with an ICE/MT driving the rear wheels combined with an electric motor driving the fronts . . .

Probably OK in a straight line, though.

I was just trying the M6 folks feel better. The odds are if Ford were ever to do something like this it would have a DCT or an A10.

  • A physical button that turned the infotainment screen to “night mode” where it is off by default, and the screen would only come on momentarily if you adjusted the temperature/fan speed before turning off again. Ideally I wish there was a separate LCD that displayed the temperature so that the screen didn’t have to come on at all
  • Seats could be lowered an additional 1-2 inches, and the steering wheel telescoped outwards an additional 1-2 inches.
  • Front seatbelt to ratchet after being pulled all of the way out so that I could lock myself in better on the track.
  • A user-programmable custom “mode” so that I can choose Sport+ while maintaining normal/comfort steering without having to manually re-select the steering mode
  • An actual oil temp sensor that displays the actual temperature, rather than a color range
  • An extra 1000 RPM
  • The ability to hide infotainment input options that I don’t use (e.g. Sirius XM, AM radio, CD, line-in, etc.)

I have to move the seat forward with the electric switch to make enough room to get back there to strap my toddler in. The lever in the back doesn't give enough room for us big guys lol.

I would love if they offered a more track focused package. The "Performance Pack" should have all the necessary coolers, adjustable front camber from factory, a true square tire setup (stop with the factory induced push), and I would love to have a screen setting that displayed all the temperature readouts, tire pressures, ect at the same time on one screen.

It’s gone dark sorry and the flash isn’t great for photographing this gap. Black vinyl spots - no one notices them and they allow for perfect alignment after moving the seats / getting in the back etc :

Set the drivers seat, match the passenger seat, sticker them up, job done :like:

Smart, I'll have to do that! My wife even has a vinyl cutter so they'd be free! Thanks

For me, I'd like a quality shifter for the M6. How about "Performance Screen" options on the center display that Shows all the engine vitals like temps, lap times Etc. Not on the little display between the gauges. And no, I don't wan't the digital dash.
