Just a few things.

1. Weight about 3500 lbs or less. I know this won't happen but it's nice to dream.

2. Improved build quality and less cost-cutting. No more plastic rattling reverse lockout collars that fail, less annoying rattles and an AC evaporator that lasts more than one South Florida summer would be fantastic.

3. Tremec TR-3160 to replace the MT-82. I've had no issues with my MT-82 but the stock shift feel is garbage and it is now just acceptable with a trans-mounted Barton. I know the 10R80 is a nice automatic but it's 3 pedals or nothing for me.

More power from an evolved Coyote would be nice as well, but if points 2 and 3 are addressed I'd really consider the S650.

What I would like to see is a ford factory mod program. Where ford has a subsidiary that produces Ford authorized, ford sold, ford tested and warrantied mods. I know they have ford performance but I mean more like offer tail light options and mid pipe options and body panels and bumpers and seats and sway bars and the such under one roof. Ford knows this car is heavily modified why not get in the game. And have it as long as it is bought from them with a order number and a signed off data base that it was installed by an authorized dealer. then it also keeps warranty. Make parts form other regions available here and so on. I mean they let third parties make a mint off their cars why not get in the game yourself. I know thee are tons of people who dont mod because its not factory or warranty. so lets fix that. I mean look how popular the calibration kit was and is , I think it is still back ordered.
(This post is completely theoretical in nature.)

Okay. I think I like this post-purchase approach better than the "ala carte" pre-purchase approach I proposed. An official aesthetics and performance mod shop that won't void your warranty however you choose to mod your Mustang would be great.

That said, I still think the mods would be just as expensive as if one were to forego the warranty and do straight aftermarket to one's satisfaction.

$10K painted stripes on the GT500 (if I remember right)...could you imagine if you wanted to repaint your entire Mustang at one of these potential official mod shops a throwback color like Gotta Have It Green or Nightmist Blue? (Guess I better be a millionaire/billionaire beforehand---)

Paint that won't chip when a feather hits it would be super.

A DOHC engine design that's not hamstrung by tiny 100mm bore centers. That's the legacy of the entire modular engine series being a 1980's design, back when a regular production 300 HP US domestic V8 was the stuff of dreams.

What kind of specs could we realistically see from an engine redesign? I've never heard the Coyote referred to as being "hamstrung". They're already making crazy power on stock motors.
I think they could have headed off most of the complaints people have had about soft low end torque with a bit more displacement. With DOHC you wouldn't need as much displacement as Chevy's 6.2 or Dodge's 6.4, but I think somewhere in the 5.4L range with ~100mm bore and 87mm stroke would go a long way. You'd be able to trim 5 or 6 mm off of the connecting rod length and basically remain in place with the smaller 4.6L modular V8 for rod length to stroke (which isn't bad at 1.67:1 - the Coyote is not quite as good at ~1.62). That in turn could take a few mm off of the deck height (overall width and height).

Careful, I think you can lose your man card for saying any engine has enough power. You and I know "crazy" equals the least acceptable amount, but other readers might not.

I'd like to see an option that reduces weight overall, click a box and you get:
Rear Seat Delete
Aluminum Driveshaft
Battery re-located to the trunk
Recaro seats

That all makes a lot of sense, but unfortunately unlikely to happen. We'll probably see electrification to "solve" the low end torque issue.
To the core question of this thread, electrification is something that I would NOT like to see . . . not that that should come as any surprise to anybody

Adaptive cruise control. I know this is available on the ecoboost and GT models, but I would love it on my GT350!

I'd add a heads up display. I know a lot of people don't think it's a big deal, but once you've owned a car with one, you miss it when it's gone. I also wish the folding seat was automatic all the way forward and would return to the original location. My kid rarely rides in the mustang as it's a weekend car.. but I hate that my seat position is always changing.

Unfortunately, SVO isn't an option as it's now in use by JLR. Besides, "Special Vehicle Operations" became "SVT / Special Vehicle Team" which became Ford Performance.

I do agree "Ecoboost" isn't the most glamorous name, but Ford were building the Ecoboost brand and having it in a Mustang probably makes those that have them in Fiestas and Focus feel "better" about the engine :)
I completely forgot about the Focus. And only now, after looking it up, I was reminded of one of my favorite cars growing up...the Escort Cosworth RS. Why couldn't the I-4 Mustang get the RS branding? Or is the RS specific to cars they used in rally only?

Still much more for me to learn about cars...

Not necessarily that it's specific to rally cars, but rather that it's specific to top-of-the-line models. The Escort RS Cosworth was the fastest, most powerful Escort. The Sierra RS Cosworth was the fastest Sierra. The Focus RS is the fastest Focus. Whereas the I4 Mustang is the least powerful Mustang in the lineup. An RS badge wouldn't make much sense.
