Just a little comparison between the Original 1965 Mustang Fastback and the 2015 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Mustang. I think Ford did an Amazing Job with this Anniversary Edition. They Nailed this Car in My Opinion! What do you think?

Good comparison. I didnt even realize about the two tone seats and embroidering.

They clearly did a great job with a modern take on the '65. I like how they worked in the chrome trim.

It's funny they say it takes inspiration from the original 62 concept...
Chrome bezels surrounding the base of each of the three taillamp blades take inspiration from the original 1962 design proposal by Gale Halderman that became the basis for the production model that debuted in 1964. The three individual lamps on each side of that design were combined into a single tri-bar lamp cluster for production, but the original concept has returned five decades on.

It seems like a stretch to me, but I think it is a good adaptation of the 65 production model.

Yep, great job Ford. This is why I can't understand it when people say this no longer looks like a Mustang

Yeah... They've gotten a couple of Dates Wrong. They meant The 1963 Mustang II Concept...

For the Hell of it... 1969/70 vs 2015. Definitely where the 2015 got it's Hips!! Also notice the lack of a C-Scoop/Hockey Stick. Especially noticible on the 70...

Actually it refers to this 1962 design proposal for the production car by Gale Halderman, not the Mustang I concept from the same year. The opposite side of the clay model had the production style side scoops like this sketch.

That Right Side is Horrible! Thank God they went with the Other Side. Also interesting to note that the Gas Cap is Missing from this Model... On a personal note, I have Never Liked the Recessed Edge surrounding the Back Window on 65/66 Hardtops. Actually the Only Hardtop/Notchback Mustang I Like is the 67/68. I've always preferred the Fastbacks.

Note that when Halderman did this design it was called Cougar and he and his boss Joe Oros pushed hard for that name. They did eventually get their wish on the 1967 Mercury derivative
