Going back to steel liners would eliminate the need for such a tight PTW clearance when cold, you could run .002 - .003 as the bore won't grow as much with the steel sleeve in there.
Again, other motors with ptwa don't have noises. They can be made to work.

I didn't imply that PTWA doesn't work it would seem that Ford has an issue with that method, if you do some homework you would realize that the 2013 -2014 GT 500 blocks had issues with the PTWA as well. The bores were not concentric and the thickness of the PTWA was thinner in some spots.

My guess is the GT500 engines will be hand built with quality control measures well above the mass produced engines.
You mean like the hand built engines Ford built in Spain for the Focus RS (where each one was listened to with a stethoscope before being sent to Germany to be installed in the car?)
And then they had the big head gasket fiasco where your hand built stethoscope'd engine had to be ripped apart by the local Ford dealer to fix either the head gasket or the head gasket and replace the head? That sucked!

It was just a guess, I have nothing to do with these engines.

The wrong head gasket (ST version) was installed on the affected RS engines.

I understand there can be issues it just sucks that a consumer buys a 50k car and has to be the test mule.
All consumers are 'test mules' for everything on the market, that's why there is a warranty. Stuff goes wrong, like birth defects and other human malfunctions. S#!t happens!

You may have the typewriter tick but I doubt you have the 2000 rpm rattle and subsequent cylinder scoring.

I believe the Mustang Ecoboost gasket was used by mistake.

I'd really like to see one of their worked engines running that was previously confirmed to have a tick or rattle to see if their theory was true.

There is a guy on YouTube named Boosted Addictions he had 3 stock motors replaced and they all had cylinder scoring / ticking & knocking sounds. He put in a sleeved motor from L&M engines and it's as quiet as a mouse.
