So various people in that video said that they were taking the Mustang global not making a global Mustang.

So why have the two main retro styling cues been changed for Europe, the UK and Australia.

I think that's exactly what that statement means. Make the Mustang as usual and then modify it as needed for the rest of the global market. Instead of using the lowest common denominator (one car for the whole world).
