We ran our bikes over it. I could get cigarettes for my old man when I was like 12 back then because everyone knew each other. Also turned in our glass pop bottles there.

Not quite. They actually had the larger hole as an attempt by RCA to sell their turntables. It's an example of the earliest form of proprietary music format :crackup:

Who knew a little plastic doohickey would allow them to be played on a standard (speed adjustable) turntable :giggle:
Sony came out with the BetaMax VCR and it was excellent, but Panasonic came out with the VHS/VCR that took over the Market.....why, they gave out the machines free to schools, It didn't take long to overwhelm the market and the Betamax died out.

I love this thread. You guys make me feel young. Never owned a record player. I did regularly go in my older brother's room and put the records in different sleeves just to screw with him.

How about Cinemax back in the day, trying to catch a glimpse of Morgan Farchild's goodies between the squiggly lines on the TV (we never paid for Cinemax lol)
