My father in law owed a gas station at the time. When either my wife or I needed gas we would bring the car to his house the night before. He would bring it to the station, fill it and we would go pick it up. We were very fortunate not to have to wait hours to get gas.
Good to stay alert and engaged. 5th or 6th grade, teacher asked students to say their first name. Girl in front of me had fallen asleep before teacher asked that. But she woke up as the boy in front of her loudly said "Art". When the teacher points at her, she blurts out "Geography" guessing the question was favorite subject. I wonder if that name stuck with her into adulthood.
I owned a '62 Buick Special 'Deluxe' (different body than plain Special) It had an all aluminum V8 Fireball and 3 on the tree, so fun!Three on the tree.... one of the first vehicles I learned how to drive on....
Wait. Why isn't that in this thread: No driving a manual does not make you smarter, more skilled, a better driver or more of a car guy.

I gave up on that thread last week. Is it anywhere near still about transmission types?Wait. Why isn't that in this thread: No driving a manual does not make you smarter, more skilled, a better driver or more of a car guy.
Dang....you just sparked a HUGE childhood memory. My Grandma had one of those sitting by the doorway of her kitchen. I used to sit on it and watch her cook. Amazing. My grandmother had one of these. Probably still in her house.
