I dont think modern instant gratification generations will ever know the nostalgia of sitting by the radio making a mix tape trying not to get the DJ in the beginning or end of the songs. Then how you played those tapes over and over and over in your car or boom box. How not only the music but also the media it was recorded on was such a part of growing up.

May he rest in peace.

I miss the days of the 80's and 90's. Those were some of the best times.
Me, my brother and my buddy had tons and tons of cassettes of all different thrash/death metal and hardcore bands, even hair metal bands. Miss those days. The best!

Is the guy who invented the mix tape still alive? God I hope so :)

OK, now your bringing up more memories. I took a job at Macy's in Queens, NY in their stereo department. At the time at was leased to Tandy Corp. Originally we only sold hi-fi components but since Tandy owned Radio Shack they decided to start selling realistic brand products. The cassette player pictured was one of those products. Small world!

Oh Man, this is bringing up some good old memories. I still has a lot of those tapes in the basement, even have some old 8 tracks.
Still even have an old Sony tape deck, in the basement. In perfect condition, or at least it was as it's been many years since I tried it.
I just can't throw them away as many good memories are tied to them.
Yep, DJ talking over the music, those were the days.
Once I'm gone, my kids will probably just throw that stuff away.
