Exactly. The guy is a click-bait whore and this makes good youtube. I bet that the bidders don't verify and it goes back down to below the minimum bid or near it.

Let's get realistic here- anyone who has $100K to drop on a GT500 isn't going to buy a used one for less money just because of a youtuber! And on top of that, that car has been run very hard, more than most would subject their new car to in the first few months.

As for SM, I think the jury is still out. I only watched maybe a total of thirty seconds of that clip but someone else implied that SM said somewhere in the forest of words that it was for PR and that's why the price is so high.

I don't know what is or isn't true but if he did make a similar statement, then I think it's in poor taste. OTOH, if as you stated, he's setting financial priorities, my hat's off to him.
