Yesterday I finally got the Ford Performance tune/air-intake upgrade pack for my Mustang (been waiting for a year for this). The air-intake is from the GT350 and the tune is a comprehensive performance reprogramming. I had it done by Southwest Ford in Weatherford (it's the only Ford/Ford Performance dealer in the metroplex area). They were easy to work with and inspire confidence in the upgrade. Total cost was $821... a bit high, but with full warranty. It will take a week or so to have the electronic control unit (engine computer) to "learn" how much to adjust the tune parameters (starts at 87 octane and increments timing, etc up to the higher octane-91/93). It also smoothes out the auto transmission shift-points. Driving in "normal" feels a bit more like "sport", but smoother. I can't wait to experience the additional 100HP (@6000RPM).
