Hey everyone,
I decided to post this up as a record for myself. Last year I retired from the military and decided to treat myself with a fun gt350 project. I had posted the progress of the most amazeballs roadtrip I had ever taken. Well that car was everything I could have imagined and more. It opened some doors and I was lucky enough to become good friends with another member on here. His build is probably notorious at this point and is arguably the best that I have seen documented on this forum. Well after meeting him and his wife, I knew he just spent my money and I jumped off the cliff and picked up a 2020 GT500 CFTP. Absolutely loved the car and after a year of driving it and trying to decide what direction I really wanted to take it, I decided to send it to SA. The GT350 I had sent to Shelby American for the signature edition package had proved to be my gateway drug for this car's direction.
Well after my second venture to Carlisle and getting to see my twin buddy, I decided to really push the envelope and commit to building out the car. So talking to my pusher/buddy I decided on going all in. The request was put in to see if I could get a spot in the lineup for a GT500SE and be able to have it in time for car season next summer. I have optioned the car with the Signature Edition package with wide body, Whipple supercharger, upgraded half shafts and painted stripes.. Wish me luck.
I received the call sooner than I expected and was able to send it out at the end of last month. The car made it and now the waiting game begins. I am going to document the progress as I get it. I doubt I will be cross country driving it at completion! LOL the last time I had to get the bumper repainted after all the rocks in Arizona and New Mexico! I plan on updating info as I get it.
For the record, Shelby American has been a great to deal with so far in both instances. Here is the first thread from my GT350SE. https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/my-gt350-journey.186003/page-4#post-3749952

Here is the car being loaded and at delivery. 8 brothers have transported both of my cars from Virginia to Nevada and I have nothing negative to say about them. I can vouch for great communication and tracking. I know there are other threads on the forum but I would love to pass on any current information through this process. I have already noticed some changes since last year's adventure.

I bet I know who you're talking about, Dean. (@Jmeo) <BSEG>

Couldn't be happier for ya but having watched Jamie go through "The Wait" TWICE, I have an inkling of the frustration. Patience, patience, patience but the end result will be more than worth it.

Yes sir! I don't have enough nice things to say about @Jmeo . I will attach some photos of us at Carlisle this year and last. I think I will be ok in the patience area. I am in not in a rush and time is my friend as far as being able to plan any little things that I want to pick up while it is away. I was able to send the gorilla glass louvered quarter windows with the car as well. Those little pieces of unobtainium were picked up accidentally from someone you might recognize from YouTube. Again great guy and nothing bad to say about him. I seem to be lucky with meeting good people!

Good stuff. Is your CFTP Performance Blue? And is J's Velocity Blue? Those 2 colors are hard to differentiate in pics.

Both cars are Performance Blue. Mine has shadow black painted stripes. I think it will be pretty cool seeing the two of them together next year with the whole yin-yang thing.

Thanks. Your car looks totally different in these two photos. FPB is really hard to capture consistently.

Hopefully your car is done by then. I've been following a guy from the New England area who has been waiting on his car quite some time now.

Yes sir, depending on the amount of light that hits it, it can go dark or look like faded denim.

Shelby opened up some locations for them to be able to process the wide body portions. They seem to be getting bottlenecked on the paint work. They are trying to push through the last of the KR's and SE's before they start production on the 2024 Super Snakes later this year. I just want to follow along during the process. I think I know the guy you are referring to. It was over a year for him to get his. I asked how long prior to this because I wouldn't commit that long. I was promised that it wouldn't be that long and they could meet the timeline. It seems like the KR's are flowing out of there right now.

My Widebody took just over a year to get scheduled and about a year to complete. I’ve got a couple of other cars so the wait wasn’t horrible. It was definitely worth it!!
I did have interior done along with custom wheels and suspension too.

Brother she is gorgeous! What wheels are those? I am still trying to get the rear wheel dimensions and offset info. I have a set of expensive forgeline wheels that I had considered having matching rear wheels made for it. I will probably just sell them though and use the money towards the build. Kinda sucks because they only have like 600 miles on the tires.
It seems some of the interior customization has changed. You can't get as creative with the stitching colors etc. Again more streamlining it seems.

Just curious, do you get a CSN with that? Absolutely love the car. How does it handle with the child birthing hips?

No CSN with the Widebody, or at least mine as it was a custom built. If anyone ask if it’s a “Real” Shelby, I’ve got a big receipt that says it is!! lolThe suspension upgrade really improved handling! Although you need to be super careful with the clearance!! I chose custom wheels and went 21” on back.

21" rear! Nice!
Do you know what the size and offset of the rears are by chance?

I do not off hand, I picked the style, finish and Shelby ordered them. They are 21x13” rear and 20x12 front of that helps?
