Hey everyone,
I decided to post this up as a record for myself. Last year I retired from the military and decided to treat myself with a fun gt350 project. I had posted the progress of the most amazeballs roadtrip I had ever taken. Well that car was everything I could have imagined and more. It opened some doors and I was lucky enough to become good friends with another member on here. His build is probably notorious at this point and is arguably the best that I have seen documented on this forum. Well after meeting him and his wife, I knew he just spent my money and I jumped off the cliff and picked up a 2020 GT500 CFTP. Absolutely loved the car and after a year of driving it and trying to decide what direction I really wanted to take it, I decided to send it to SA. The GT350 I had sent to Shelby American for the signature edition package had proved to be my gateway drug for this car's direction.
Well after my second venture to Carlisle and getting to see my twin buddy, I decided to really push the envelope and commit to building out the car. So talking to my pusher/buddy I decided on going all in. The request was put in to see if I could get a spot in the lineup for a GT500SE and be able to have it in time for car season next summer. I have optioned the car with the Signature Edition package with wide body, Whipple supercharger, upgraded half shafts and painted stripes.. Wish me luck.
I received the call sooner than I expected and was able to send it out at the end of last month. The car made it and now the waiting game begins. I am going to document the progress as I get it. I doubt I will be cross country driving it at completion! LOL the last time I had to get the bumper repainted after all the rocks in Arizona and New Mexico! I plan on updating info as I get it.
For the record, Shelby American has been a great to deal with so far in both instances. Here is the first thread from my GT350SE. https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/my-gt350-journey.186003/page-4#post-3749952
