Tach turns bright red at 7K+

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to floor my A10 2018 GT while going 65mph. This event took place at night and I have the analog dash set up. The motor shot up to 7K+ rpms and the tach went from blue to bright red which I never experienced before. As the tranny upshifted, the tach dropped back and returned to normal blue color and the car accelerated like a rocket. I never knew that Ford put this feature in our cars until now. I did not hit the rev limiter during this pull.

Yeah the first time mine did that I let off the throttle thinking I had done something lol. I think mine comes in even earlier than that since the Canadian versions have the wrong tack with a lower RPM limit.

I believe they have been doing that since 2011ish if I’m not mistaken.
I know my 2012 did that.

Must be a premium thing. My base GT lets me know by bouncing off the limiter haha

I like that feature a lot . Feels like it just adds that cinematic to enhance the driving experience!

I think the feature is for letting you know that your valve and piston have met

You can set the shift light to also light up bars across the top of the cluster. I use that instead since it's easier to see in my peripheral vision.

Ive noticed it like once. I set a tone for 6500 so when I hear beep, its like oh yeah time to shift.
