Sync 2.2 & Cell Phone Holders

Question for the group -- what are you using to hold/secure your cell phones?

Since the desired USB outlet is in the center console, I was thinking about trying out a cup holder like this one.

It doesn't have a way to secure the cable (have to manually do that when you insert the phone) which is a big turn off. I'd love a simple solution to get andriod auto / car play connected asap while not diminishing the look of the interior.

You can also get a phone holder that uses the CD slot. put it in and tighten to hold.

the CD slot doesn't work great on the Mustang. Problem is when it's installed with a phone many of the controls for A/C etc are covered by the unit. After trying a few units I ended up with one mounted on the windshield just above the dashboard speaker.

Discreet and efficient: Using a metal plate that sticks on the back of the cell phone (fits even with skins or covers), you just slap the sucker on the mount and it sticks to the magnet super tight.

Best mount ever.

This is not a true statement. My forward port works great in my 2016.

My bad, my original understanding is Apple Car Play only worked with the console port after swapping out the socket while Android Auto worked fine in both.

This is what I recently installed. I have my phone just to the right of the touch screen.

What I did was take a "cheap china" lighter gooseneck.....

And bolted the Ibolt holder charger to it.

This way it holds and charges at the same time,no plugging cables in.And free's up the front USB port.

The cable is plugged into the lighter port.You could move it over to the usb
