I recently asked about giving my car a little better ride. I have the 20 inch Foundry wheels with 275/35-20 on all corners. Today I bought a set of new takeoff PP1 wheels/tires with the Michelin tires on. I weighted and measured the tread on both sets. Here is what I found out:
- the rear PP1 wheels (9.5) and Michelin Pilot Sport 4s weigh the exact same as the Foundry with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+. 65 pounds. The front PP1 (9) with the 255s weigh 60 pounds. Though it might be hard to see from the picture, the 255s looked almost exactly the same thickness as the 275 A/S 3+. But, in my opinion, the 4s are a much nicer looking tire.
I will report back with my opinion of the ride differences. The temps are about the same for both 38-40F.
I'm thinking about converting the brakes to 6 piston as well.
