Ive maintained 160ish comfortably, the car felt really good so I wouldn't be opposed to faster speeds if a safe opportunity presented itself. I should have it at the Fall Texas Mile event, so we will see what 165 plus feels like

Crazy, I see why all my new neighbors in TX left CA... The kit came with a CARB sticker in it, and was told by my installer that they were able to become CARB compliant by using the closed lid air box and an emissions friendly tune, but yeah your right, reading the California disclaimer on Whipples site directly says off road use only in that state.

Whipple told me that the GT350 is NOT CARB compliant - If your kit came with a CARB sticker it should not of. The 5.0 is CARB compliant. They do not want to spend the money on the GT350 kit for the CARB testing.

Well then I guess whipple needs to keep an eye on the employee assembling the owners packets. Good thing my buying decisions was not hinged on carb compliance

The car is stable at its (NA) top speed of 175ish. Keep a sharp eye on your tire temps and pressures. Don't mind the hood wobbling and bouncing around, that's normal, but somewhat unnerving.

I think at those speeds, there really is no safe opportunity (even on a track)

Have fun

Agreed, I should of used the term “controlled environment without risk of merging vehicles or oncoming traffic”

The hood wobble was an interesting experience at 140-150, nothing crazy but you notice it fast. I actually have that captured on video from my TX2K18 runs

You could always do hood pins like I have on my '67. :)

Box stock Whipple gen3 kit, with Kooks LTs on a Whipple tune and im at 835rwhp, 600tq. All on stock clutch, stock driveshaft, stock everything, zero chassis mods.... Zero Wheel hop, zero problems, 4300 boosted miles at 10PSI on 93 octane seeing 8000rpms regulary at least 3 days a week and not showing any signs of advanced wear and tear.
What mph does your car trap?

Can u send me a link on the hood wobble. I’d like to see it. Seems like there is not enough venting in the hood to let the air out lol

That wasn’t bad. The hood was burping a little lol.
All that injested air has to go somewhere

Yeah, compared to the wife’s Roadrunner it’s a dream. The carbs on hers are viewable at 110mph lol

I didn’t think a roadrunner would go that fast.
My 78 Pontiac would start shaking at 100 lol

Oh it’s terrifying, I refuse to drive it anywhere but out of the garage. It’s a 440 6pack car with a cam and 4.56 gears so it runs ok if you just point it straight. The 4 wheel drums and 50 year old torsion bar suspension make it real interesting to slow back down lol.

what year is the road runner? I had a 1969 1/2 A12 Road Runner 10 years ago.

1969, the car itself was a pretty big deal in the Midwest through the 80s and 90s, it had features in Hotrod, Carcraft and many Mopar coffee table books. Her father bought it in 76, and he gave it to her sometime in the 90s. It’s been a bracket racer for the last 15 years but it is returning to light street duty once I twist her arm enough.
