Does anyone else here have issues with how bouncy the rear suspension of their GT500 (CFTP) is?
I have 2100 miles on my 2020 and from the first time I drove the car, I was shocked by how poorly tuned the rear suspension is (regardless of whether it's in normal, sport or track setting) and I'm actually wondering if something is wrong with my specific car. The rebound can't keep up with the spring rate so the rear of the car has a tough time keeping the tires in contact with anything but glass smooth pavement and I routinely get bounced out of my seat when driving on the highway. I've never experienced suspension tuning like this in a stock car before and it reminds me of how a lot oversprung, underdamped aftermarket tuner cars felt in the early 2000s.
This issue is super odd to me because 1) the front of the car feels great and 2) I previously owned a GT350R which had fantastic suspension tuning (it didn't have this issue at all) and I've heard many people say that the GT500 has better damping than the GT350R. To boot, I also own a 991.2 GT3, drive it on the same roads as the GT500 and the difference is night and day. The GT350R actually rode better than the GT3 (which is firmer) but I wasn't even aware of some of the bumps and undulations in my favorite roads until I tried driving the GT500 on these same roads. I simply can't drive the GT500 very fast because it's bouncing all over the road.
I've not been able to ride in another GT500 so I'm curious, does anyone else have this issue or has anyone heard anything similar? I appreciate the help!
