So that guy at CJPP is wrong then? Or they have a flunky that uses his account to answer questions improperly....yikes. I went by that and a few other similar videos I found, but I'm guessing they just followed that because the actual instructions Coyote provided are a little off. They say to install the adapter with the factory "open-ended lug nuts" which we know we don't have with the cap lugs. Then install the tire onto the adapter using the supplied nuts.

So we have to swap the nuts around to make it work. Thankfully I've already taken mine off and tightened the adapter to the spacer at 120 and put the wheel back on with no problem. Guessing I'll take the wheels off again, check the spacers to 120 (I think that's fine for those) and then put the wheels back on at 100 (easier to measure on my torque wrench) and see how it feels.

Thanks jbailer.
Well, they are made in China
I'm sure that explains those screwy instructions. Now on second thought, calling them for recommendations might not be such a great idea. This can be reasoned out with common sense though.

Wheel adapters are sold with low profile open ended lug nuts so they can fit under the wheels. So those nuts they provided logically hold the wheel adapter to the hub. They actually almost got mounting the adapter to the hub correct. In step 4 on the back of the box they say, "mount the Coyote Wheel Adapter onto the vehicle's studs until it sits flush with the rotor's flange. Install the factory (or aftermarket) conical seat, open end lug nuts (not included with this kit) (This is the part that is obviously incorrect). Tighten all lug nuts to 30 ft.lbs. using a star pattern tightening sequence, then torque the lugs to factory specifications (see chart, side panel) (If they left that part off, it would have been correct) using a torque wrench, following the same star pattern sequence.

Then step 5 they screw it up by saying to install the nuts provided with the adapter to install the wheel but correctly tell you to use the torque specs on the side panel (pic above) to install the wheel.

LOL, I see how it's confusing if you aren't already very familiar with wheel adapters. Lesson here, don't buy Chinese junk. The only reason I bought these is they were the only ones I could find on the market when I bought them. Now there are several to choose from.

First time for me, always had trucks and SUVs for various reasons, though done plenty of work on them as well as boats/diesels/hydraulic systems, but this is the first time with modding a car and aftermarket parts like this. I've bought a few things with screwy instructions. Hell, even my Bob's catch can had some horrible grammar/writing in the instructions and it's made in Florida (well...Florida...)

Just took my wheels off again this afternoon with no problems, adapters were still solid at 120 (no movement on the nuts at all) and I put the wheels back on at a much more conservative ~110. I figured since I already did 150 a few times that I'd go a little higher than spec in case I stretched them at all. Still went on snug, went for a drive, still tight.

I appreciate the info and help jbailer . Hopefully Heardcuh can get his wheel off. At 150 I don't think any sort of pulling is actually going to create enough friction on the inside nut to unscrew the lug. Would those adapter lugs sheer off if the factory nut is smacked with a hammer? Ugh that's tough.

Heardcuh let me know if you don't get a response from Ross @ Coyote, I'm a master distributor for their products and can get in touch with them. I'm sure they will replace the spacer.

The lugnuts they supply with the coyote spacers are junk. I had a couple nuts where it just basically twisted and kinda rounded off. Didn't over torque, didn't use an impact, and I used the correct size socket.

Just got a call from Mike; he heard my vmail to Ross and when they're open again on Tuesday he's going to get my shipping info and send me a replacement spacer. Very pleased right now, hope the other two ok the drives side are all good and that this new one is good too. Wonder if there's anything I can do to prevent his again aside from buying the eibach spacers.

I know very little about the different grades of hardware . I thought the same when I got mine and put them on. Were you able to find some good quality lug nuts to replace them? I'd love to replace all of mine.

I ended up selling mine because I went with new rims. I didn't notice the issue until I took off the spacers and found out that several of the lugs were mangled.

That said, I don't know off the top of my head what kind of lug nuts they are. From the pictures, they look like M14x1.5 cone seat open lugnuts. I can't recommend any in particular, as I have no experience there.

Thanks. Maybe I will try hitting up Paul @ Need4SpeedMotors. He always seems very helpful and might be able to get something like that.

I decided just to make sure the other 4 are tightened down and I'm taking it easy as far as lateral G's and driving the car less until Coyote ships me the new one. Then I guess I'll drill through the Lugnut and saw it vertically off. Gonna order some new black lugs anyways. I'll make a video of the process.
