Stripeless Mach 1 - Cost to Restripe

Not a big fan of the latest rendition of the Mach 1 stripe scheme. I was contemplating the removal of at least the hood stripe. Might have to rethink and see if it will grow on me over time given the price for the stripes alone as provided from the folks at Levittown.

I didn't like the stripes either, planned to pull them all off...I kept them on to see they grew on me....I actually like them now. The design breaks up the hood (but the stripes are black on black, so could have been some of it)

I also have a Mach 1 on order and am not crazy about the stripes...but imo you should see it in person and keep them on for a little while before deciding to remove them, especially considering the cost of putting them back on.

No stripe just looks a lot cleaner to me, so I imagine I'll likely end up removing them anyway but best to be sure about your decision instead of regretting it later!

I don't have a Mach1, but I love the stripes... as you can see... I would definitely not buy a special model and them remove the characteristic decals for it. I kept the FX4 on my truck, too...

Not to mention, it would speed up the order process, because they ship the car out of the factory to have the stripes installed, or so I have heard.

My stripes will be removed when I get mine, that was the one thing I really hated on my 03 Mach, was the stripes. My car was always garaged but he stripes looked terrible over time.

Kudos to @1969 Mach for pointing them out. They do full body stripes (even for Mach 1) as well, check them out.

What did you do to it? Mine was outside for over 7yr and looked just fine.

I bought it used, not sure how the previous owner maintained it. The 7 years I had it, it was garage kept, hand washed, and never saw rain.

OEM stuff, most of the price is not the manufacturing price here. To prevent GT folks to get them probably. It's the same with badges, the oems always cost arm and a log. Hence why there's ton of cheap (Chinese) knock-offs. It's pretty weird ofc when you consider the original 4 HP wheels with TPMS sensors cost exactly the same thousand bucks.

No stripe just looks a lot cleaner to me

I've seen a fair share of "naked" Mustangs and I came to conclusion they're bit too clean to me, like an open ocean to lose yourself in. The stripes take it to another level with contrast and in this particular case two levels. But it's ofc personal preference.
