While I haven't seen much on this forum about the brand Street Legal Performance...it's the brand that is on my dad's 5th gen GT.

I see they make axle backs for the S550 for $470-ish. Just curious if they are any good? Any experience with them?

Thanks

I have the SLP LM2 on my car. Very pleased with the quality of the product. I believe they are owned by Roush now.

They're owned by Roush and the SLP LM2 is the Roush AB with packing around the perforated core instead of no packing.

Yes it makes it less raspy and quieter. It's a pretty nice axleback overall. It'll be a lot like the stock exhaust but crisper, deeper and louder (though not loud). Some reports of drone if you do a resonator delete though.

See I wouldn't want raspy. I want a deep grow. I see there is a sticky thread in here with different exhaust sounds but now that the weather is warming up...might look at the local cars n coffee and see other owners are willing to let me hear a few revs.

With the resonator the Roush isn't raspy either, but definitely loud.

What's the difference tween the Loud Mouth 1 and 2?

I went for a ride in my dad's 4.6L 09 GT about an hour ago....sounded REALLY badass with a nice growl to it! But would there be a big difference between the SLP on that and on the 5.0?

Thanks

Hell yes! I'm really happy with mine. I have SLP LM2 with a Hearthrob H-Pipe, and it makes the car sounds so sexy, yet doesn't produce much more cabin noise. I got this over the Roush Axle Back because it's quieter when you change over to an X/H - Pipe.

Before H-Pipe, barely noticeable difference in sound over stock on the inside, and a nice deep rumble, a little louder than stock on the outside, and definitely louder than stock when you floor it.

After H-Pipe, little more interior sound (in a good way, not droney), and much better exterior sound, but not obnoxious at all. Gives the car a lot of character. I was planning on taking a video today, I can upload it here later if you'd like to hear.

It'll definitely sound different. They just don't sound the same as a 3v 4.6. It'll still sound good, just not the same as a 3v.
Do you mean that the less powerful 4.6 will sound better (deeper/throatier) or just different?

If so, I need to find someone with the LM installed locally on their S550 GT.

What about differences between the LM1 and LM2....any ideas?

Thanks

Just different - better is subjective. I loved the sound of my 3v GT. Then again, cams and longtube headers helped that. Originally it had an offroad midpipe and SLP LM1s. From what I understand the LM1 is just a hollow resonated muffler similar to the Roush - the LM2 has packing around the perforated core
