I have seen that several people on the forum have been experiencing water pump failures. Could definitely be a possibility based on where the sound is coming from.

Yes this seems kind of likely. A bit of background. I took a turbo kit off the car and needed to replace the coolant hoses for the oil cooler. The car sat for a couple weeks without coolant while the hoses were on order and i was out of town. Maybe this is what caused it. Im going to take the belt off and see if i can see any play or anything on the water pump pulley/shaft. Will then start it without the belt and see if the sound has subsided. Cars are fun, hahaha
