Hi all,

Will I lose low end torque by replacing my stock resonator with a Xpipe or Hpipe??

From what I have seen reported the various losses/gains are around 1%, and a wash...you might gain 1% HP in some ranges but loose 1% torque in others...
I did an H Pipe and it had zero impact on my Friday night 1/4 mile runs. (I did not expect it to).

You won't lose any horsepower.

You won’t lose power, and the gains are negligible. You will lose a good bit of weight. The power increase comes from cat removal or high flow cats, plus headers

Do it for the sound. If you want power, the X-pipe is supposed to scavenge exhaust to reduce backpressure.

My H-pipe adds no horsepower, but does seem to cancel out some of the high-frequency raspiness while not impacting the low and mid frequencies as much. There is a louder deeper sound on stock mufflers.

I run a Mitsimoto H-pipe and it is well made and durable.

There will be zero difference and anything shown on a dyno is likely from normal variables in the margin of error. Get an X-Pipe/H-Pipe for a difference in sound, not HP/Torque. :sun:

Not knowing what the stock resonator flows.......in general an X Pipe or an H pipe will provide some tq and hp across the board period end. Those who haven't installed a few don't know.
The sound between the two are different though. H is a lower mellow rumble .... the X will be raspier.
For how cheap in price they are and ease of installation.....

The stock resonator is a pair of straight through pipes with some perforations. It’s not restrictive at all.

Change midpipes if you want a louder and more raw sound. Performance is a wash.

Picked up a consistent 10th (roughty 10hp) with an h-pipe.. so subtract the weight savings I prolly gained 6hp while still on stock mufflers

Farting hard enough in the right directoin will probably net you harder acceleration. Do it for sound and weight reduction.
I'm sure your better half know this first hand........
