the upper to the GT TB. my buddies is also ported, you can actually see the green gasket a little when you open the TB. I know on my BBK tb, if you open it up and feel inside, the upper intake is slightly larger than the 73mm tb. I would estimate the opening to be around 75-76mm....you might get it to 77-78mm if you went crazy thin, your still going to be left with a small lip. for sure the "fins" need to be ground out

The fins I know need to be removed but IIRC in the throttle body thread someone stated they measured and the upper intake opening was around 78-79mm

**just checked and they said its 76mm

It was dead on! But i'm just wondering how much of a difference this will make if it's only 4mm. it sounds to me like the 80mm throttle body will fit pretty well and combined with your pipe which is pretty wide even at the intake manifold end will yield some good results.

Just make sure you grind the fins out, and grind the opening as large as possible

Would this work for the base v6 grills?
YES, it will work with base grill. I have one and opened up the honeycombs on the drivers side to get full potential of the ram air system.

So does the 2018 stock air intake assembly fit well in the previous years from 15 to 17 I have 2017 GT but just a little worried that the assembly wont fit because of the 2018 bumber facelift so I think the air duct sits a little differently in 2018 and won't fit in a 2017???

I opened up my stock grill by removing the furthest three sections of honeycomb at the airbox intake, also I'm running the AEM dry drop in filter.
My temps with normal driving stay 10-15 degrees above ambient.
If I'm on the throttle, such as going up a long hill or just having a heavy foot the temp get about 6-10 above ambient.
Happy with my inexpensive mod.
Do you have pictures?

for anyone who has made an intake tube or purchased one, do any of you know the exact angle needed from the throttle body to the air intake box? i am looking into replacing the one i currently have for one that looks a little cleaner and fits better.

I don't know the angle but I have that all set up and working with a piece of intercooler tubing. I can get a picture if you want. I might go back to stock since I have seen no advantage (maybe at high rpm/speed) and a loss of mpg.
I have not tuned for it.
