Hey guys,

I'm considering having my stock 20" wheels powder-coated black. I hear that you aren't supposed to power-coat forged aluminum wheels so it has me concerned.

I called the parts department at the stealership and they weren't able to tell either other than it says "Bright Machined Aluminum.". Do you guys have any idea?

You shouldn't have any problem powder coating those... don't believe they are forged, and most likely cast.
The OEMs are typically outsourcing their forged wheel suppliers, and the factory pricing through the stealerships is similar to companies selling their own forged wares on the market. That being said, the ford price on these is only a bit higher than the performance pack 19s which are definitely cheap cast wheels.
Look on the back of the wheels, and if you can't find any "forged" markings you are all set.
