I think I’m high 700’s so I’m sure there aren’t many if any street tires that can hook at that level but anything better than what I have would be great.
At that power level, I agree no traditional high mileage street tire will be acceptable. A drag radial or race-type tire would be needed.

I have the Nitto NT555Rii. They are excellent for street use.....smooth, quiet and they hook very well. Rain is not a problem, either.
If there is any real amount of rain you better drive right behind someone in there tracks or you hydroplane everywhere

Have you considered wider rear wheels. They have power pack reproduction wheels that are wider. 10.5 I think

305/35/19 on a 9.5 wheel. I think it looks fine

Look and performance are 2 different things
If a tire is too wide for a wheel, tire will move sideways a lot on the wheel. Fine for getting coffee at Starbucks, not so much for track or spirited driving
To each it’s own

This guy is an idiot. You can see the bulge
You need a 11.5 or 12 for a 305 tire
On a 9.5, 275
I'm sorry, but you should refrain a beat before calling others idiots if you're going to post wrong information. You do NOT need an 11.5" wheel (let alone a 12" which most installers won't even mount a 305 on a 12" wheel).

For instance, the approved rim width (from manufacturer) for a 305/30/19:

R888R: 10.5-11-11.5 (meaning the widest rim the manufacturer recommends is 11.5")
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup II: 10.5-11-11.5 (again, meaning the WIDEST you can run is 11.5")
Nitto 555R2 (305/35/19): 10-11-12 (which is obviously a more forgiving tire due to it's additional sidewall).
Mickey Thompson ET Street SS: 10-11-12.

Again, ALL of these very common tires prefer an optimal 11" wheel, but as you can see with a more meaty drag radial that has slightly larger sidewall you can go as narrow as 10" and still be within the compliant spec from the manufacturer.

A typical 305 tire prefers an 11" wide wheel for most optimal sidewall angle and an 11.5" wide wheel is generally 315-325 widths.

I personally wouldn't run anything less than a 335 on a 12" rim and would actually probably prefer a 345.

You need to educate yourself. There is a huge difference between “it will fit” and the optimum size

I'll pass. Maybe you should call up Ford and tell them every single GT350 and GT350R they've ever sold is wrong. Every GT350 sold has 305 tires on 11" rear wheels and every GT350R sold has 305 tires on front 11" rims.

Gee, I wonder if they spoke with Michelin about what the optimal wheel size with tire combination were for those offerings.

No reputable wheel/tire shop is going to mount a 305 on a 12" wheel you momo.

Btw, my 2000 Viper GTS came from the factory with 335 on 13” rims for the back
So compared to your 305/12 comment, I guess that no reputable shop will ever do it......
As I said before, you seriously need to educate yourself
And, btw, the “idiot “ say that 305 tires were fitting well on performance pack wheels that are 9 in front and 9.5 in the rear
You seems to agree with him... seriously????

So compared to your 305/12 comment, that is 30mm wider tire on a 25.4 mm wider wheel.... so Even worst ratio and I guess that no reputable shop will ever do it......

Here's an idea. Go drive your Viper then and stay off mustang forums spreading bad information.

In fact, on OTHER mustang sites there's actual Michelin reps that have commented on what the appropriate pairings are and the detriment of putting the tire on a wheel that's too narrow or too wide.

End of debate, you do NOT need an 11.5" wheel to run a 305 series tire, in fact MOST of them prefer an 11" wide wheel. Go argue with all the guys at trackmustangsonline, some of them sleep at the track. You keep using the term "educate" but the shit you're selling is bankrupt.

In fact, the nonsense you're spewing seems like some stretch tire douchebag nonsense. No one here is trying to stretch a tire and run dorky camber. Go to another forum for that.

An lastly, there's a difference between can, should, must, can't, etc.

Can you run a 305 on a 12" tire? Sure. Should you? Not with most street/track performance tires being discussed here. Can you run a 305 on a 10" wheel? Yup. Should you? No.

Can Shaquille O' Neil wear your size 10 stripper shoes? Yes, he'd be awfully uncomfortable. Can a 5 year old wear Shaquille O Neil's size 18 clod hoppers? Sure, but it wouldn't make much sense.

The optimal size wheel for MOST tires that anyone would run here is around 11."

Dude, run whatever you want.

For everyone else, you do NOT need giant wheels to run a 305. an 11" wheel is just fine.

Let's not forget the PP2 with 305s all the way around with 10.5 on front and 11s in the back. And that is factory sizes.

I strongly disagree. Ive run 305s on a 9.5 wheel and cut 1.4 sixties At 800whp. I currently possess an NHRA license. And have also been racing since 1984. Gotta remember there’s your way. And everyone else’s. I’m not saying either is right or wrong. But I know for a fact. 305s on a 9.5 inch wheel work fine.
