You asked, and we listened!

Once the aftermarket shocks started coming out for the S550 Mustang, people all across the country ran into issues breaking the factory rear shock mount. Whether it was drag racing or road racing with very stiff shocks, customers were having all sorts of issues. That’s when the team at Steeda got together to come up with a solution.

Made from billet 6061 aluminum, these mounts are designed to replace the weak cast factory units. Unlike the factory mounts that have a rubber bushing that binds and will deteriorate over time on lowered cars or cars with aggressive shock settings, these units feature a Steeda spec stainless steel spherical Teflon lined bearing for optimum performance and control. Steeda also went a step further by making 2 kits, one for factory and Ford Racing shocks that are 10mm in diameter (555-8151) and one for aftermarket shocks like our Pro-Action that are 12mm in diameter (555-8152).

Steeda S550 Mustang Billet Rear Shock Mount - 10mm Rear Shocks (15-17 All) | 555-8151 | $199.95

Steeda S550 Mustang Billet Rear Shock Mount - 12mm Rear Shocks (15-17 All) | 555-8152 | $219.95

Steeda S550 Mustang 12mm Spacer Kit for Billet Rear Shock Mounts (15-17 All) | 555-8153 | $49.95

If you are running stock shocks now but might upgrade to Pro-Actions in the future, no problem, there is no drilling required like the OEM mounts, these mounts are upgradable with a simple spacer and nut change (555-8153). The Steeda Billet Shock Mounts are a great upgrade to drag racers and road racers alike, or if you’re running aggressive shocks on your car, these will greatly help with control with uncompromised durability.

Now available!

Will they fit the new Bilstiens ??
Do you have a link to the new Bilsteins? Will need to look at the specs to confirm - they fit the other major brands - Steeda, Vogtland, etc.

Best Regards,

TJ

Per our site, this is a description of all 4 kits with part numbers

Steeda also went a step further by making 4 kits. One for factory and Ford Racing shocks that are 10mm-1.5 in diameter (555-8151), one for aftermarket shocks like our Pro-Action that are 12mm in diameter (555-8152), for non-adjustable Pro-Actions and Koni's with a 10mm-1.0 thread (555-8160) and lastly one for Coil-over shocks like the Vogtland, Bilstein, KW and Roush (555-8161 - this kit).

Got mine yesterday for my KW's and can't wait to try them out!
@Jmeo : Which kit did you order for your KW coilovers? Please keep us posted if it fits. @TJ: I still have no clue what's the difference regarding the coilover kit (555-8161). Your posting is about the same I can find on your website. Is it 10mm or 12mm? 1.5mm thread? As far as I know for KW 10mm is the right one. Thanks!

I've been back and fourth with Frank at Steeda for a couple months about these and more specifically with KW coilovers. They are in fact 10mm but the threaded top section of the KW shocks are not the same. I sent Frank pictures and the boys at Steeda designed a version that will now work with the slightly different KW top posts. I believe the changes were made to the nut and spacer.

This would be the kit that fits the KW's

Thanks, Jamie!
Before I will place my order I want to be sure that it fits as shipping cost from US over the Atlantic is signifcant and therefore return shipment not an option.

Sorry, that aforementioned is correct. I thought you were asking for which part number is correct.

The KW, Roush or BC Coilover kit has a hex design of the upper shock shaft for the rebound adjustments.

Jmeo, we look forward to your feedback.

TJ

Here is my KW shock and how its different than the stock shocks at the top

Here is the Steeda mount and hardware sleeve specific to the KW and other coilovers

Here is the specific sleeve in position on the shock top

This is from the top without the sleeve in place

How it looks mounted in place

Hope this helps clear things up
