Thanks man. Just one clarification and a question. When you open the trunk, will it pop a little more than before, or not? And when it opens, people reported that it slams open, which I wouldn't have a problem with that, IF it slows down before reaching the end of the strut's travel. If the trunk smashes open against its stops, then I rather not touch it.

And the other issue is to close the damn trunk. The Bullitt, with no spoiler at all, has the lightest trunk, so it'd be the hardest to close. And without a grab handle, sounds like the new trouble would be to close it. Ha ha. Thank you.
It does “pop” up quickly but it slows near the top. I have the heavy CS spoiler and have no concerns about it. As far as closing I just use the edge of the back panel or the lip of the trunk lid. No problems with either. Oh, I do use a microfiber cloth so no fingerprints. :)

I loved the functionality but not sure if it's because I have a vert, or just need the no wing option, but removed my steeda struts because my trunk was lifting and bending. My trunk definitely did not have this much of a gap prior to installing the struts.

Are you saying that you are using the “heavy” struts?

Yes, I got the heavy because of my spoiler, but don't think that weight of the spoiler would make a difference. I put the stock struts back in and it's flush again

I've got the heavy on my Mustang Convertible & did not have the flexing or gapping you are experiencing - also have not seen that from other members, that is very peculiar.

Let me run this by our install team - see what may have taken place.

Tj, I just noticed mine today, before I saw this post. Passenger side is also bulging up a little like his. Driver side isn’t. I believe I tossed my original struts so I can’t go back to try kind of makes me wonder if I should have gotten the light weight spoiler

Got it. I misread your post but I'm glad TJ chimed in. If there is an answer for this, Steeda will find it.

Does anyone have their old sets I can snag off them cheapish? I have no idea how much original ones cost

I’d like to swap out to test. I honestly think I want to put lightweight struts on it. Just don’t want to pay the price again zzz

Is a little worrisome. The passenger side is quite a bit higher, I push down on it with hand and I can hear the strut make noise, so it’s being pushed up to hard.

Tj let me know your opinion, may buy the lightweight struts off you. Unfortunately I tossed my originals away.

It definitely wasn’t this way when I installed them, I was walking to car in parking lot and noticed how high it was and I was trying to figure it out.

The team is asking if you have a photo, same shots, with the OE struts? They want to see the comparison.

At the same time, please send them to [email protected] with your contact info.

Best Regards,

TJ

I May have a couple of photos from before I swapped the struts I will search through them later on pc. But here’s one more comparison, left driver is solid, right side is pushed up.

When I put hand and push down on the tail lid, on right side I hear the strut compress. It becomes flush thouth by doing so.
