Kudos to Lund for getting the tune revision dead on first shot for this intake.

Hopefully mine will be the same.

Finally got the kinks worked out as well but still logging. Fyi if wanting to stay more OEM looking the engine cover does fit back on after install.

Thanks for the tip but I don't like the giant cover and have had mine off since about day 2. LOL.

Any feedback on what the "kinks" were with the setup and tune? Just curious, should be pretty straightforward as an airbox lid, filter and tun, unless related to other mods you also have.

Check for the insert that is shipped already added to it and remove it if you are tuned for the full size.
Check for possible vacuum leaks. In my case a line came loose that should not have.
Log and revise for maf curve. Win.

In addition apparently there is some maf turbulence, at least in my case according to logs. No biggie on straight gas or e but could cause problems going back to flex. May add insert back and log and see if that calms it down and go from there. If that does not then... hmmm...

The maf looks too close to the filter. I personally think it should be moved back another 2"

That's actually what Shaun was saying was possibly contributing, though he didn't speculate the required distance to increase lol.
Would prefer not to have to add insert back but if it allows me to get back onto flex tune then ah well...

Sometimes we need to respect OEM engineering. I am sure the factory MAF reading is smooth as butter. I wont be trading that for a few extra ponies with this lid given the feedback. I did open up the OEM 18 grill in the front so it can breathe straight in and deleted the OEM sound tube. Never seeing IAT's more than 4 degrees over ambient when driving, usually 2-3* max. I might consider a resonation-chamber delete post-lid tube if it comes out, but thats it.

My understanding is if you run the insert, the car will run smooth like factory. If you removed the insert, thus a larger ID, the car may not run as smooth but will allow for more air for the super racer types.
