So today I got in my new 22 GT PP to go to work.

I noticed that on a cold start my oil pressure was pretty much topped out at 90 to 100 psi. Let it sit for a few mins to try and let the oil warm up.

Even going down the road for a while it still was extremely high. Anything above 1.2k RPMS had the oil pressure looking like below. It should also be noted i live in FL. Its not exactly cold down here.

Is this what you all are seeing on your GTs??

if it's normal it's something I did not notice until today.

New as in 12 miles when I picked it up.

OEM oil
Off the cuff so take this with a grain of salt.
I think you’re in good shape. 12 miles and a tight motor along with proper break in and I’ll wager the oil pressure settles out in a few hundred miles.
I’m guessing here, the Gen3’s have a oil pressure control solenoid and the ECU may hold a higher pressure at lower RPMs until a predetermined time is met adding a bit of safety margin during initial break-in.

It's where Ford put the sensor. Normal

I have put almost 700 miles on it so far.

For other reasons also check you oil level to be safe.

this is why they didn't put real oil gauges in cars for decades :D
there can be wild fluctuation based on temp, usage, wear, all kinds of stuff.

i'm a little paranoid about stuff like that so i figure whatever it says is whatever its supposed to say since im not gonna monkey with it for a long time.

I mean generally speaking operating the car with any other gauge just pegged out like is a bad thing.

I am well aware that it does normalize as the oil warms up and thins out. But I did not realize they had it setup so that the Guage was just pegged to the far right until the oil essentially reaches operating Temps or close to it.

Just wanted to be sure before I found out the hard way if something is wrong.

i was talking with the guy who tuned my cobra and he mentioned how cars are kind of all over the place. it depends on the build, the engine, the temp, the oil, how old the engine is, etc.

this could be a faulty gauge, sensor, or just the way the new 22 GT's are (they have different oil pump setups).

It’s normal. Mine is a year old and has always read that high at startup.

They put the sensor at the oil filter, start of the oiling system, instead of at the rear. People freakout more when it idles with 15 psi.

My 2015 Performance Pack is the same. I run 5w50. The car has 15,000 miles on it and is supercharged. I always keep the rpm’s low until the motor is warm.
