My issue is they're not leaving any path to a modified car within the law. It's either bone stock or illegal.

First step is limiting/removing what you can do to make it personalized, take it or leave it. Next is removing most options that aren't the flavor of the month SUV/CUV/Econobox. Then no more car ownership at all. We'll dial up a ride from an app and when it drops me off near your current location when you dial one up, you'll get in and smell my farts or worse. Self driven vehicle taking you to your destination interrupting service only for fuel (whatever form it will be) and maybe cleaning? Luckily most of us will be dead before this happens.

You have to pity the Nascar drivers who are only going getting 550 hp at the crank this year and have to pay for all of that safety equipment and put up with all of those rules and regulations just so they can compete on a track.
