So last night I was driving to the grocery store to grab some groceries for Slylar. She's growing up fast with already 1300 miles on her so she needs to be fed. I was pulling up to the intersection in generic drive mode, switched into Sport so I could pass all these basics and their slow driving selfs, so I kicked into Sport mode and off I went. While in sport mode I let the transmission and CPU do all the shifting for me so Slylar would be treated like a standard. I noticed that the drive was much more aggressive and responsive( not to mention it makes the V6 sound better IMO). So my question to you all is this: have you tried this? I think it makes a world of difference, but that's just me.

Time to get back on the road. :ford:

I drive almost exclusively in Sport mode. Sometimes the rev-matching downshifting might feel too aggressive in traffic I find the lack of throttle response in Normal mode more annoying. In Track mode things really get fun.

Yes,I have. It's why my gas mileage is about 12mpg right now :) ...and "S" is not the same as sport. S+ or track are much more aggressive than S in normal mode.

I always have my manual in sport mode, unless the ground is wet.

Pretty much only speed up throttle response. Nothing magic about sport mode
Speeds up throttle response and reduces traction control.

I keep my MT in normal when driving on the streets. She is aggressive enough for city driving.

I like mine in normal mode when driving around.

I put in "s" a couple of times: When I want to pass and when on the highway. S helps me find that sweet spot, around 77/78 mph. It also helps in passing.

Only time I get in track mode is when I want to do 0-60 or something like that. Track mode makes (me) the car want to do 90.

Looks like the OP drives a v6, in which case the sport mode simply changes the feel of the steering wheel.

I believe the OP is talking about the "S" mode on the select-shift auto.

Interested in seeing more opinions on this(I have an auto on order and want to know more about the "S" mode)!

The only time I don't is when it rains....then it goes into sport mode =D

After a few weeks of driving, putting the car into sport mode became part of my start up routine. Didn't even think about it when I was at a stop light in a downpour and took off making a left turn.

Now I pay more attention to the weather and carry and extra set of underwear in my glove box.

I don't like the S mode very much on my GT. Th rev matching is just very annoying in normal driving, I only switch over to it when I want to do a quick pull, but since I only had 400 or so miles on it, I short shift manually anyway.

Does the sport toggle switch make the manual transmission automatically rev match?
