A year ago I put a JLT CAI on my car. Present time I want to remove the sound tube. JLT supplied the delete plugs which I have in a box. Does removing the sound tube change the cabin sound any at all? Thanks.

Removing the sound tube decreases the sound inside the cabin slightly. I have very good hearing per my hearing tests though.

With an aftermarket exhaust, I doubt you will notice.

The search button is your friend. There are plenty of threads for how to remove and how it sounds after removal.

Anyone know if the tube has foam inserts like the previous gen did that you can remove, cut in half, whatever to hear the change in sound?

Not sure on the 15's. My son removed the foam on his 13 GT.

From a delete kit manufacturer's page..

"The idea behind the sound tube is that it's supposed to pipe engine noise into the cabin of the Mustang to enhance the driving experience. Well, true motor heads find the idea lame and want it gone.

What's lame is the logical fallacy based selling point, but why would "true motor heads" think it's lame? I like being able to hear the throttle body whine and feel like I can get a little better engine feedback.

Agree. Corsa Extreme exhaust is plenty of sound experience for me.

I did not notice any difference inside when I removed the sound tube.

But like others found it to be the ugliest thing under the hood.

Glad it is now gone.

If you have the factory exhaust you will notice a big difference. If you have an aftermarket exhaust it is will sound pretty much the same with or without the sound tube.
