Just did this today to try. I only pulled the front half off and capped both ends to make sure I like it before permanently ripping it out. So far so good! There's a little less volume in the cabin, but now I can hear the exhaust better. Bonus find: initial tip-in throttle response is improved some.

Ppfffff That bastard tube is out by using a 10mm ratchet wrench.

The delete took me about 15 minutes a couple of times my wrench went down.
I did attached a small rope on the end of the wrench to pull it up.

It also helps to pull the dip stick and put your through the opening behind the brake lines.
The plug was easier if the tube is out you have more space.

Yep, i did notice that throttle response is improved.
And a much cleaner sound in the cabin.
Glad that i did this mod.

The Hillman plug shown in this post looks like a good fit. You can get Hillman parts at any Lowe's hardware.

I wanted to thank those who suggested to go hulk on this. When installing my CAI I got frustrated on trying to reach the nut, and said fuck it. I went from sound tube to sound tube delete in 4 seconds. Nothing more gratifying than that.

Wasn't that just about the most irritating thing you have dealt with in your life. Seems you dealt with it the way I wished I had. I ended up using a 10 mm box wrench and yes it took some time but wasn't it nice to see that hideous thing removed. There is no doubt the engineers meant for this to stay on.

The boss was 100 times easier than this and with that being said tells me that there was a different design engineer involved with the 2015.
