I left the sound tube in place.....removed the inner sponge filter on the end that was easy to get to....now I just want to remove the sponge filter from the "hard to get to" end ! ... if I don't like the additional growl, I would have to reverse course!

I just ordered the cool tech kit and will be doing this when it comes in.
Please let us know how the plug quality and fit is with the Cool-Tech kit. I was eyeing that one too.

Plan C= Cut and cap the tube, get small section of hose with clamps and make it so you can hook it back up if you ever want. (But so far I have not wanted to).

Ok so I just installed the kit. I give it a D rating. The firewall plug is great. The cap on the intake is about a 1/2 to big and looks sloppy. I am on my way to HD to get something else for it. I used the wrench Anthony suggested and took me about 15 minutes total.

Much better with Home Depot chair bottom like recommended in this thread.

Does the blowfish racing delete kit for the 14s work for the 15s? I never used the one for my 14 and was wondering.

For the guys that are using the rubber cane cap, make sure the cap is not deteriorating. I had to change mine out after several months because it became brittle and was tearing at the surface adjacent to the stock clamp.

I'm skinny and my arm still has the scars from this.

Well then, this should be fun. Guess I'll have to rip it out and make the cosmetic fixes after it is removed.

Thanks.

I also installed the Steeda CAI. I really didn't like the firewall cap supplied in the kit. I also ordered the Cool Tech kit, was also the same, in my opinion, flimsy style thin plastic cap. (the same type of samples as shown earlier in this thread) Now realizing how difficult it was to get to that spot, I knew I only wanted to do it once. I wanted the old style sheet metal plugs like Mustangs back in the 70's, the ones that don't fall out, the ones you have to pry out...
I used this one:

It went in easy, but it's now November so make sure you keep it warm so you can put it in with ease! (unless of coarse you live in Florida)

What size cap should I get for the intake side?
A 1" inside diameter cap. People have been using walking cane ends. I'm looking for plain looking caps and i'll let you know if I find anything and post the pics.
