I have previously test drove a 2018 ecoboost base model and a 2018 GT premium with active exhaust both with the A10. I loved the GT and especially the exhaust sound in track mode. For the last 3 weeks I have been look at a 2019 premium GT with perf pack 1, active exhaust and 401 A package in velocity blue on a local dealer's website. Today I decided to test drive it and I have to say I could not tell it had the perf package, but I am glad to know it is not jarring or too stiff. The digital dash was kind of a let down. In normal mode you might not even realize it was there and assume it had normal gauges which I guess would be the goal. I tried the other modes and they were just underwhelming. I think it is just not bright enough to pop enough to be worth it. It is too subdued and faded at least during day time.

Maybe it was defective - there is no way I’d describe my digital dash as faded or subdued.

Hmm never would have thought this. I'm a fan of it and glad I went that way. But different strokes for different folks !

maybe the colors set were boring. I like mine, I change the colors every couple of days so I don’t get bored.

Also the 201a/401a will give you real leather and some extras.

I've had mine for a month and half and never had it fade out (even with polarized sun glasses) and the options and color options are pretty amazing. Either there was something wrong or it was turned down (as mentioned above).

I love mine and as mentioned works fantastic with my sunglasses on too.
You can configure "normal" mode too

Save your money if it's not for you and get what you want.
I would recommend though test driving more cars with & with out options available back to back, PP non PP auto ...manual,
It's hard to size up what somethings value is to you with out a benchmark reference..... may eat up a salespersons time but that's what they are there fore :)

Were you wearing sunglasses ?
Specifically, polarized sunglasses. With polarized, I can barely see my tuner and have to tilt it to "just right" to see it. So - great for driving and cutting sun glare, but not so great for seeing certain kinds of displays.

I drove both and found the digital a little to cartoonish and gimmicky for my tastes. JMO.

I removed the plastic cover over mine. It increases contrast and reduces glare.
