Here is a video compilation of some drag runs I did this past weekend. My times weren't great, but this is the first time I've really pushed this car. I had a really hard time nailing a launch, but I found on my last run actually spinning the tires a bit in the burnout box helped my 60ft by about 0.4s...

Third run is a good example of why a harder launch on street summer tires is a bad idea...

Practice makes perfect?

Density Altitude: 2762 feet
Relative Density: 92.16 %

Thanks for sharing. Get some sticky tires,a little more practice and she'll be down there. Regardless of the times hopefully you had fun.

You should go on a night with better air.
Were you letting off early going through the traps? What rpm were you shifting at?
You shouldn't need sticky tires or abusive powershifting to run a a low 13@ 110 at least.
There is hope, another guy here posted a stock(supposedly) 15' 6M GT with 3.55's that ran a 12.6 @ 115, 2.0 60ft in good air.

If my car constantly runs this bad this summer, I'm probably trading it in. I mean, my stock 14 GT ran a 12.8 @113 with a crappy 2.2 60ft...

I don't claim to be a professional on the strip, so that comes into play. I don't have any issue shifting quickly (although if I wanted I could shift a little quicker than I was), but it was mostly the launch that held me back. For whatever reason, everyone seemed to be running a bit slow that night too...

As for the density, it's not going to get a whole lot better, we're at 2200ft altitude anyway. I don't think I ever let off early, usually ran it even longer than where I thought the end point is. My last run was my best with the 13.499 and a 2.08 60ft, but not idea how I didn't do better considering i picked up 0.4s on the 60 ft...should have pushed it closer to the even lower 13's I would think, not a slower MPH. That was the run I was powershifting, so I was deliberately shifting quickly (as to not bounce off the limiter). Most of my shifts were around 6500 (the tach would turn red just before the shift).

I was going to do 1 more run but I thought I heard some hissing while putting around the parking lot in first gear. I thought something broke, but I drove it home and realized it probably always did that but I never noticed because I always have my radio on even a little bit and I can't hear the hiss with the radio on...

Where was the hissing coming from?

From the shifter (area). If you put pressure on the shifter in first, it gets louder. You also notice it from a shift from first to second as you put pressure on the shifter. It is unnoticeable when driving in 2nd or higher. I think it is "normal" and I don't think anything should have broken during my runs - only 1 had bad wheel hop, and if the car can't handle 1 little bout of wheel hop, it's not well designed IMO.

A few other sites and threads make mention to the MT-82 being noisy, and a few have had the exact same comment about first (and second) gear as mine, so I'm not concerned. It doesn't really bother me, I just didn't want to break the car on the track lol.
