10K boosted, stock cats, no issues. Car is not driven hard, so they aren't run at high temps for extended periods.

Get rid of the cats. The heat is too much and eventually will be a problem. Don't gamble. Ive personally seen two 18+ s550s with blown motors because of cats

2016 whipple stage 2 running whipple tune stock cats, 92 octane, 2 years boosted 6k miles. No issues but I do see some carbon on my tailpipes, not sure if I should be concerned.

30k miles on my KB with cats. I don't have a boost gauge but I'm running the old Boostworks 800 hp package which I think was 10 lbs of boost. Lund tune. Lots of highway shenanigans, but otherwise just my daily driver. 93 octane gas from Shell only, no E85.

I ran my car pretty hard yesterday and on one of the pulls it threw a P0420 Code. Also failed a Mode $06 test for $A1 (Misfire Monitor General Data) TID $84. Not sure what that one means. I cleared the codes and the cel hasn't come back but the TID $84 came back.

TID $84
-40 Min
1441.22 Value
1367.78 Max

Anyone have any idea what that means?

Roush kit tuned by PBD - about 9psi on 93 ... The setup has been on the car for almost two years now with stock cats. Zero issues.

No idea what the extra values are, but P0420 indicates that one of the cats is not working as well as it should be.

2017 w/Roush Phase 2 (upgraded TB and HE) running full-length Kooks with "green" cats. No issues. Car is insane at WOT.

I had stock cats for 2 years running 700 wheel. last year bought a friends Kooks long tubes with green cats setup that he had run for 2 years at 740 wheels power level one cat was Ok the other green cat had sign of overheating and it was starting to fold in at the center. None of these cats will last at high HP levels indefinitely and when they go it's not good. The only safe option is not cats fro big power.

How do cars like the hellcat and gt500 make the cats last. I think I know the answer...just curious if others are thinking the same

Cats....

You can damage them at stock power levels.
You can damage them with supercharged power levels.

Just like your transmission, engine, axles, etc.... its all in how you treat them. Cats want proper cool down time, after WOT.

Starters...
1) never do a dyno pull, and instantly shut the car off.
2) extremely long highway pulls aren't the best idea (for cats or engine)
3) don't run to much boost, for your octane, where you have to pull back timing to far.

I have made 1,100 rwhp through factory cats...
I have also had friends nuke cats with stock cars running 87 octane fuel lol.

So its all in how you treat them,
Erik

PS: I run cats on all my personal builds, because I hate the smell without them. #picky

Why does shutting the engine off quickly after a dyno pull stress the cats? I would have thought not running exhaust gas through them would let them cool faster.
