I see your post.

Got a link to support that it's what's offered, and not what's sold?

If true, that's both great and...........completely retarded.

And what's with the sudden drop to 420HP for the 2022 Mustang GT?
It‘s been that way on Ford’s site for a good while. Gotta be a typo. It wouldn’t be the first one on their site. My ‘22 window sticker shows 450 hp and I don’t think they want to make that kind of a mistake.

460/470 plus EV pancake motor sanwich could easily hit "approaching" 500.
True, but I imagine the added weight of batteries and such would erase the gain. Of course having AWD would improve acceleration times though so it wouldn't be so much a HP issue as it would be putting the power to the ground issue.

You might be very wrong there. On the 22 Maverick Hybrid, curb weight goes up from 3,563# to 3,674# a difference of only 111#. Lets say the Mustang system adds triple the weight, at 333#. It would take roughly 33HP more to be just as quick right? The Maverick engine is 191HP & 155TQ. The electric engine adds 126HP & 173TQ, which is way more than the break even point. 0-30 the EB maverick is quicker, but by then the gas engine is up and running and does 30-90 quicker than the 250HP 2.0 Turbo engine. The weight penalty of a hybrid is not much for the gain you get.

So take the 3.5 Ecoboost V6 (400/500) and add the electric (126/173) and we have 526 HP and 673 torque.

BOOM!!!

the powerboost config only comes to 430/570 vs 400/500 so hardly an earth-shattering bump. It remains to be seen if the Maveric hybrid power unit is compatible with anything else.

OK, Mr. Debbie Downer! Can't you let a guy dream?

Powerboost is used through the trans, so that would not be used on the Mustang if the Mustang is to have electrified front wheels.

US Patent not-withstanding I very much doubt the v8 Mustang will get driven front wheels. Now the Ecoboost, I could see that.

I doubt they would go through the patent process to not implement it. It may not be the first year, but it is probably coming. It will increase MPG and traction.

Hundreds of patents are issued every year for ideas that never make it beyond paper. This one is unlikely but one never knows.
