...a hybrid V8 mustang will get great MPG but you cannot get around emissions.
MPGs and emissions are the same thing, per EPA. It's PPM of particulate, and if you're getting better MPGs, there's simply less exhaust/particulate.

Has anyone noticed Ford.com is now advertising the 22 Mustang GT at 420HP?

Yep, that's what's on their website right now.

Very interesting. I think the other shoe has dropped. HP is going to take a nose-dive due to the new EPA regs.

Ford is already well on target to meet the goal. I'm glad you understand how this works.
No, they're not. They're not anywhere near close. Not even on the same planet.

The number of EVs Ford is selling doesn't come even remotely close to meeting a fleet average of 52MPGs. Ford is probably right around 30MPGs fleet average right now.

My 2018 GT had 470hp and the Ford Performance pack bumped it to 489 with 91 octane tune. It was bumped to 496 with 93 octane tune... 91 is very uncommon around here. I don't think I noticed much if any difference, as it would mostly be felt at high rpms, which are impossible reach here. Realistically, I can't accelerate anywhere for more than 5 seconds without rear-ending an SUV.

I see your post.

Got a link to support that it's what's offered, and not what's sold?

If true, that's both great and...........completely retarded.

And what's with the sudden drop to 420HP for the 2022 Mustang GT?

Here is a link to CURRENT/and 2021 models offered by Ford, and their MPG/MPGe ratings: https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Pow...ake=Ford&srchtyp=newMake&pageno=1&rowLimit=50

Pretty sure the 420 HP on Ford.com is just a typo. Maybe the editor was high, or wishing he was. LOL.

You said that the EPA calculates a given manufacturer's fleet MPGs/emissions based on the average of what is offered, and not what is sold.

I asked for a link to something that supports that claim. Something from the EPA that corroborates what you're saying.

I sure as hell hope you're correct.

They couldn't do by sales, that would change every month. By model offered is how it's always been done, since the 70's.

Here knock yourself out. Seems like all we want to do on here recently is argue.

https://www.nhtsa.gov/laws-regulations/corporate-average-fuel-economy
I'm not arguing. Asking for more information/confirmation/clarification isn't arguing. I've always thought the EPA did some sort of annual sales MPG average from the pervious year.

I'm at work, not reading through all of that. And a quick perusal didn't explain how they calculated fleet MPGs.

Can you just highlight/quote/snip the part that does?

Nope. I’m not reading through all that either. I’ve been around since the beginning so I know how it works.
