Figure if you report it to your insurance company, you still have to pay the deductible and your rates will go up at least 15% for 3 - 5 years.
That is not a fact. Could happen, as some have confirmed, but depends on the insurance company, and your claim history. What is a fact is a collision with an animal is a COMPREHENSIVE claim, which automatically means NOT AT FAULT. So that's good. Unfortunately, for many insurance companies, a claim is a claim, so that may not mean much.

Having said that, I typically draw the line at twice my deductible of $1K, so 2 grand. And that's because I have a perfect record at the moment (no claims or tickets in the last 5 years). The good news is most insurance companies allow you to make a claim later, if there's more damage than previously thought... but talk to them first. Don't make a claim, but just ask if that scenario happens. Good luck brother. And hopefully a coyote being hit by another coyote will bring you good karma in the future. Ha ha.

Yes, led 2018-2020's are $750. (or were)
I've heard there's two versions, the fixed beam and one with auto leveling. I have no idea what packages the auto leveling one is part of but the list price is about double the fixed one.

Auto leveling headlight assemblies are Euro S550 only.

Before plinking down retail prices for head or tail lights, search on eBay, this forum and LKQ - you’ll get much better deals than Ford retail.

Oh okay, I was wondering why there were like 8 different assemblies on the Ford Parts site.

Not sure what the difference is between level 3 and level 4, besides several hundred dollars. Perhaps self leveling? In any case it appears we are both correct.

Your rates should not go up if the accident was not your fault. Usually critters fall into that category.

However. And this is the most important thing any of you will read on the Internet today:

Do not take advice on insurance from mysterious strangers on the Internet. Insurance laws, rules and regulations vary from state to state. On top of that, every company has its own policies.

I'm with the suggestion above - get an estimate first, and then decide.
Not to mention a lot of people have no clue how their own insurance works let alone anyone else's.

It IS always best if you can handle it "outta pocket".

Insurance companies LOVE to tell you that 'it won't
affect your premiums at all' !!

I crashed a Harley in 2002 by hitting a horse and the
insurance co told me the accident wouldn't affect my coverage.

However, come insurance renewal time they canceled my
coverage.

My agent happens to deal with my wife's place of business, so
they wrote it with the same company and my coverage cost was lower.

I have farmers and hit a dog at night running onto the street a few years back. I did make a claim and the insurance did go up a year later. I guess all those years (10+ years) driving around with no accident doesn't mean crap.

Why are there all these posts about headlights?

I don't see any broken headlights, or really any body/paint damage, other than the grille area where the 'yote went bye-bye.

That looks like a great weekend project of popping off the front clip, replacing the lower grille, fixing the mechanical stuff damaged, then slapping it together.

So...do I just fix it myself and have the shop recharge the AC or do I have the insurance deal with it? Friggin Coyote V8...
