Single loud pop sound when I initiate reverse

I have been having this pop sound ( sounds like when you run over a sharp rock or puncture a tire) every time I start to reverse the car. It sounds like its coming from the driver side rear.

I have checked the hub nuts and manhandled the wheel to check bearings and seems good. It does not happen going forward. It also happens after a short drive and with the car sitting for 20-30 minutes. Backing up a slight lncline is very noticeable. I still have powertrain warranty left if its the axle.

If the sound is similar to a rubber noise, then check bushings.
