So I’ve seen a lot of GT cars with single tip exhausts. I’m starting to think that’s gonna be standard on the GT and quads optional. See the blue car in the pic and also the one on display at Rolex 24 posted by another member.

This is a fairly well known fact. Back to the way it was for the 2015-17 unless you get active

The quad tips will only come standard on the DH or GT's equipped with the Active Exhaust option for the S650s

It does seem a strange step backwards, in my opinion at least, but I guess it a tick-box for the refresh should we get one "quad exhausts now standard" etc.....

Exactly, they could also be doing this to keep costs lower. Without all the active exhaust tech, it is more cost effective. Also think lighter weight, even if it is just a few pounds.

I don't think they necessarily did this to save money, but rather to sell the option and generate more revenue. They are able to keep pricing down by selling more options. It's what the whole auto industry is doing now as inflation squeezes profits. Also active exhaust was never standard

It also reduces chip count on chips that are harder to get. Solid state relay drivers, which it uses, are in high demand and short supply. That’s why Chevy wasn’t shipping with heated steering wheels and DFM.

Again, active exhaust was always an extra option

Wait. Assuming that pic was taken at Ford, are we to believe they have those things laying around ready to ship but plan to hold on to them until summer?

Production hasn't started dude. These are test cars
One would think.

But they give the distinct appearance of being stickered up and ready to ship.

Of course, Ford says summer and I trust Ford.

They are pre-production builds...........and yes, they'll even have the window sticker because they are testing the full build process.
