i read its pretty badass compared to w7. W7 is king of output etc.but I read w6 is pretty whimsical compared.
Can’t go wrong eitherway

w7’s require so much power and I think 3ohm stable amp

So this is my setup that I am currently saving up to get hopefully by the summer.

Speakers: Morel Tempos 602
https://www.crutchfield.com/p_13698257/JL-Audio-XD1000-1v2.html#customer-reviews-tab

( I just got the front ones because I head replacing the speakers in the back is pretty much useless)

AMP for speakers: JL RD400/4
https://www.crutchfield.com/p_13698621/JL-Audio-RD400-4.html

DSP: JL TwK88
I heard this one is better than the Fosgate DSR1 maestro device
https://www.crutchfield.com/p_13698101/JL-Audio-TwK-88-System-Tuning-Processor.html

Subwoofers: Adire Brahma
https://www.adireaudio.com/product/brahma-12/

MONO AMP: In the fence between JL XD1000/1v2 and HD 750/1 (are these enough to power the sub?) If so which one would you go for?

Let me know what you think, this list is a work in progress, I have been researching, watching videos, and reading forums every day!

I would say yes it will power it fine. But lets do a little math. The Brahma is $450. Let's say a good quality enclosure is $250, add the amp you asked about is $680. By my simple math, that is $1380. As long as you like it, then it would be worth the price. I paid $845 for, actually $730 for the the JL Audio W6 in enclosure and $250 for a Rockford Fosgate amp and it sounds great. The amp's birth certificate shows 615 watts, so matches the W6 great.

lol ok, but is the XD 1000/1v2 enough to power them? btw these babies have been gone for a long time and they barely came back like a year or two ago. Talk to any audiophiles of them, they will instantly recognize the brand. It is of high quality, low distortion at high power so you can get that beautiful bass without having it blasting in your face!

what about your AMP, you never mentioned the cost of your amp... for me the AMP is more important than the subwoofer itself. You can have a cheap subwoofer, but if your amp is of high quality then your subs will sound amaazing.

I like the components you have picked. I would say they are very solid choices. I haven't heard of the subs and can't comment on them. I actually have purchased those Morel Tempos for my rear fill to go with the Focal Flax 3 way components for the fronts.

I think Penguin and I have similar tastes in audio equipment. I know for sure we do in the subwoofers and amplifiers.

hahaha, you purchased them for the back?? I would have just left the stock speakers... I don't see a point in getting rear speakers at least for me. I almost have no one in the back of my car, and hey Im saving myself some money from not spending on rear speakers.

I have the Rockford Fosgate Amp I mentioned above currently but now upgrading to DSP amps with my new build........but that is entirely a different subject. lol I will keep my current W6 sub enclosure in the new build.

We all have different taste. When spending over $5-7k on audio, you tend to go all out :) I never have anyone in the rear seats but as I said they are for rear fill..... I know many don't use any rear speakers at all. Again, it is a matter of taste. Notice I didn't laugh at any of your components. :)

As a general rule of thumb, with JL subs, you can pick the size and quantity of the subs to match the space available for the enclosure (10" or 12".) Then pick the line (W0-W7) to match the power you intend to give them. With the exception of the flat line subs, all JL subs put in their proper box will sound so similar that you can't tell the difference between them. That's also assuming same type of box in the comparison (sealed vs ported) and I can't stress enough the proper box size for the sub, that single detail will make or break even the best of subs.

I’ve been weaning myself off the forums. I am basically done w my car and seeing peoples new stuff makes me want to do more honestly.

I am on my little 3 inch iPhone screen (iPhone 5) I will take a look at those links tomorrow on my pc. But over view looks like a nice selection.
Rear speakers aren’t a big deal.

You could also remove them entirely, that would let bass pass cleanly into cabin., could pop one of them out as a test.

No no no, don't take it wrong. I was laughing because I don't have money to splurge on things like that man, especially the rear speakers. I barely have enough money to get them in the front, and here you are putting them in the back. That's why I found it funny. Some of us have a tighter budget and some of us don't even know what to do with extra money we have laying around just like you said. I really appreciate all the feedback you have given me, and I mistook your statement of the Rockford Fosgate amp, I thought you were talking about the DSLR. Thank you for everything man, once again. Your advice means more to me than the advertising that a lot of companies project to the public nowadays. :)
